Re: [slim] Artist logic bug?
Hi, I've had a similar issue. I ended up adding a 'ZERO WIDTH NO-BREAK SPACE' (http://www.cs.tut.fi/~jkorpela/chars/spaces.html) to one of the artists. You can't see the difference, but SqueezeCenter does. :) Adding even more ZWNBSP's you could even have multiple artists with the same name in your library... See for yourself: http://tweakers.net/ext/f/FgYI0dhRbkAhdz1lXzeAhJuY/full.jpg I haven't had any unwanted side-effects using this method, I just hope it'll still work in newer SqueezeCenter versions. Other whitespace-characters won't do the job (SqueezeCenter just ignores a normale space, it ignores a non-breaking space in mp3-files, ...) Still, I would love to see a way to solve this without changing my tags. ;) The folowing sentence cointains a few dozen of Zero Width Non-Breaking Spaces. Try copying it to a text-editor and moving the cursor with left and right: t#65279;#65279;he q#65279;u#65279;ick br#65279;#65279;#65279;own fo#65279;#65279;#65279;#65279;#65279;#65279;#65279;#65279;#65279;x jump#65279;#65279;s ov#65279;er th#65279;#65279;#65279;#65279;#65279;e la#65279;#65279;zy d#65279;og#65279; -- XanderH XanderH's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=23121 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=60296 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

[slim] Artist logic bug?
Hi, I have two different artists: 'The Glove' 'Glove' and they have nothing in common. When browsing the artist list, 'The Glove' has disappeared. However, there's an artist 'Glove', which lists all song by both artists 'The Glove' and 'Glove'. 'The Glove' has whole albums, 'Glove' only appears on a compilation album. This shouldn't be happening, should it? -- verypsb verypsb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17295 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=60296 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Artist logic bug?
It's an attempt by the DB to detect artists with non-exact matches to be considered the same artist. In your case, I think it's due to the setting that allows configurable article names to be ignored for sorting. Accented characters has a similar issue. José Gonzalez and Jose Gonzalez are seen to be the same artist, but the name displayed in the app is dependent on the order that the scanner scanned the files. If you correct a tag to make the names consistent, a rescan for new/changed files doesn't correct it - a full rescan is required. ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
