Audible books play on Win and OSX machines, you could always play books on your PC and use waveinput to get it to your SB device. Audible is owned by Amazon. For context, Audible is a company that sells audio books for various mobile platforms, i.e. iPhone, Android, Blackberry, as well as selected MP3 players. It seems the purchased books are downloaded to the device, and can be configured so that you can listen to a chapter, and then read the next chapter on the screen, etc. Nifty. It seems to require the presence of an app on the device, so even if you could break the DRM it is unlikely it would work functionally as a simple MP3 file. Their pricing model is interesting -- basically a subscription model with a base price of $15 (there is a starter special deal) which gives you one book a month, plus discounts on extra books. R. If the audio book is on CD you can just rip it like any other CD and play it back through your Squeezebox player from your Squeezebox server (LMS). If your audio book is already a MP3 you can just put it in your current Squeezebox server folder, scan for new and updated and then play it back through your Squeezebox.
