A little bit more info, when I run a command line scan (see below), it 
crashes.


Now I have hit the limit of my diagnostic skills :-(

SlimServer 6.5 quite happily on my XP laptop. Have you tried running 
slimserver _without_ MIP, from the command line? It should give you 
some information why it crashes (if it does).

It should give you someinformation why it crashes (if it does).I've rolled back to before i installed 1.7 of music IP and slimserver will start now  but i can't access the web interface (throws up a blank page) but the Squeezeboxes and softsqueeze are online.
The other thing i've changed in the last week is the latest iTunes.

i installed 1.7 of Music IP yesterday, analyzed a few new albums,  closed it, cleared the Slimserver cache and set it to rescan.  Slimserver now won't start - i've tried reinstalling it but the problem is the same - slimserver shows as 'starting' in the system tray but doesnt get any further.
Anyone experiencing similar?  Resoloution?Windows XP running on the server.
