Re: [slim] Near Total Squeezebox Meltdown
You may try to connect to mysqueezebox.com and play a radio stream (i.e. through headphones) If it works, a full rescan of your library may solve the problem (a guess looking at the symptoms) -- eLR!C FreeNAS0.7RC1 Microclient Sr [SBR tweaked TA10.1 Cabasse Farella | 2xSBB | SB3 Sony BoomBox] eLR!C's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=19360 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=82803 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

You might want to try doing a Xilinx reset. Power off (pull plug) and then when powering up agin you press the 1 button on the remote. -- alfista alfista's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=32396 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=82803 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Near Total Squeezebox Meltdown
I'd try two different resets: SB3 Factory Reset: Unplug power, press and hold down the add (+) button on the remote, plug power back in (whilst continuing to hold down the add button) SB3 Xilinx Reset: Unplug power, press and hold down the one (1) button on the remote, plug power back in (whilst continuing to hold down the one button) If such Resets do not resolve the issue you might try a digital out instead of analog out, just to diagnose the audio portion. -- toby10 toby10's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12553 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=82803 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I think 3 times in the 5 years I've been watching my SB's breed) the Xilinx gets confused. Since it does all the decoding and grunt work, when it gets confused, the rest of the player THINKS it is playing but nothing comes out. The power plug can be a tight fit, as well: there have been several cases of it reboots all by itself that were simply the power plug not being seated all the way.. it gets a bit tight and feels snug when it isn't. Don't hammer it in, of course, but press it a bit more firmly and it should seat fully. Also not much of an issue in reality since most people aren't unplugging/replugging their SB's all that often. -- snarlydwarf snarlydwarf's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1179 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=82803 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
[slim] Near Total Squeezebox Meltdown
After moving to a new house and purchasing a new stereo system, I set up my Squeezebox classic (v3) which has worked like a charm for 3 years. The list of problems immediately became huge. Bottom line, i can not get any music out of my device on either my Bose, which I had been using for previous years, or new stereo. I need to know is my device somehow fried? Here are the issues: --Device immediately connected to new wireless AND wired network --Device communicated with software; when I played a track through device, the software indicates taht the song is playing...HOWEVER --I could not get any music to play through any of my music systems --The display shows the track title, but does not show any the track progressing; it appears to be paused, but on software, the song is playing and the album continues to play to the end on the software, even though the display remains stuck on the initial track --When I could get the track to play on the device (i.e., I see progress), horrible feedback comesthrough my stereo or Bose radio --Whenever I unplug or jiggle the RCA cords at the ports, the device powered off --I've tried multiple RCA cords trying to isolate the problem; nothing changes --Occasionally the display shows neon gibberish; I reboot, and the display returns to normal. I run my music off a ReadyNAS device; I've tried running Squeezebox on both wired and wireless. It reads both networks, recognized the server, recognizes the software. Everything seems normal, but I can't get a single note to play through my systems. This device worked up to the day I moved. Did I somehow fry the device? Could there be a software explanation? Thanks in advance.
