Re: [slim] Pixel policy?
Mine has a small line of a few pixels that 'twinkle' occasionally. -- mikeselectricstuff mikeselectricstuff's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16264 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=44307 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Pixel policy?
Certainly one defective unit does mean that the entire product line is a failure. Unassailable logic. well, i got mine today and have to conclude it is a piece of crap! Dead pixel and the bloody thing won't even allow me to browse my album collection or upgrade the firmware via wireless. After wasting my entire morning I'm now updating via SD card (after having wasted hours searching for a howto on this). Clearly the Receiver is a good idea, but in its current form it's nothing short of a wannabe ripoff. Mine's going back on Monday. Re: [slim] Pixel policy?
I also have 1 dead pixel. Hardly visible - but noticeable all the same. Damn annoying once you know it's there. I've had it less than 30 days but don't think my retailer offers the 30 day return option. I'll check. Re: [slim] Pixel policy?
Here's a simple trick that a friend taught me when my Asus EEE PC showed up with a few stuck pixels: As soon as possible after discovering you have the problem, take a high quality microfiber cloth and rub in a circular motion over the affected area. It may "un-stick" the bad pixel. I did this on my Asus and it worked well. Although I can make assumptions about how or why this may in some cases, I don't know for sure. Of course, YMMV. -- boerner boerner's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3601 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=44307 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Pixel policy?
I'm sure the 30 day return policy is still in effect. I don't know what the policy would be for dead or stuck pixels beyond that period. Re: [slim] Pixel policy?
You could try one of the stuck pixel tricks.. but it would probably require opening the controller. -- SuperQ SuperQ's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2139 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=44307 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Pixel policy?
I think this is the first time I've ever heard of any dead or stuck pixels on the controller's screen. They must be pretty rare otherwise someone would have commented on this during beta testing. -s. -- slimpy slimpy's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1524 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=44307 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
[slim] Pixel policy?
I'm just wondering what the policy on dead or stuck pixels is going to be. I just got my Duet and love it. But, it seems to have one stuck pixel. Not a big deal, but I just wanted to know what the official policy was if it developed more. The WAF (wife acceptance factor) is high.
