Where the same problem is spending time working around a bug without
bothering to report it in the bug database so it has a chance of ever
getting fixed?

It's worth noting that while some related bugs have been fixed, no-one
seems to have actually reported the issue you folks keep complaining about:

http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2874
http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1217
http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=242

A good rule of thumb is, if you ever find yourself wanting to ask about
the status of something on the mailing list, either refer to it by bug
number, or chastise yourself for not having filed a bug yet, file the
bug, and then refer to it by bug number. Speaking as a developer (though
not one that works on this product) it is orders of magnitude easier to
close duplicate and redundant bug reports than it is to track and fix
issues that aren't being reported in the bug system.

2006-10-14 Thread ajmitchell

Thanks Ben for taking an interest in the Ampersand issue.

I already mentioned I have not filed a bug yet (please read the earlier
thread), because I wanted to see if this was an issue for other
people.I doubt I am not the only one experiencing this
problembut I cannot be sure. Maybe someone else has filed one?

Whilst we are on this Ben, do you have an issue with ampersands in your
playlists?

In fact can anyone else get the symbol in an itunes playlist to
display correctly on 6.3 or above (including 6.5.0)??

If not, I agree it worth filing a bug and getting it fixed.

Alex

Just for the record, I have upgraded to 6.3.1 and the playlists from
itunes still do not display .

Hope this will be fixed in 6.3.2.

It's very unlikely to be fixed in 6.3.2. It's a purely cosmetic bug,
with an easy workaround. Point releases like 6.3.2 (if there even is one
coming) are generally reserved for bugs that have a significant impact
on a large percentage of the user base (or a critical impact on a
smaller subset).
