Re: [slim] Squeezebox Classic V3 dead?
You guys were right. I placed a bid on a local second hand SBv3 with power supply. Once I got it, I connected the "new" power supply to my own SB, it powered on instantly. I have used my setup since 2007. I never had any issue whatsoever. The reason I "acted drastically". :) slimmert's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7104 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115078 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

It was an original Logitech power supply and its trie that Ive replaced many of these over time. Switched power supply. Works like a charm. To me it has always been the darn power supplies. I wonder how many people have assumed their squeezeboxen are "dead" and acted drastically, when in fact it was just a failing power supply. ...pablo Server: Win10 and LMS 8.2.0 System: SB Touch --optical->- Benchmark DAC2HGC --AnalysisPlus Oval Copper XLR->- NAD M22 Power Amp --AnalysisPlus Black Mesh Oval->- KEF Reference 1 Other Rooms: 2x SB Boom; 1x SB Radio; 1x SB Classic-> NAD D7050 -> Totem DreamCatcher + Velodyne Minivee Sub Computer audio: workstation --USB->- audioengine D1 -> Grado RS1/Shure 1540 pablolie's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3816 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115078 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

If you decide to test the power supply by measuring voltage, please note that it must be connected to the Squeezebox. Measuring without anything connected could give a perfectly good level, but once it has to drive the Squeezebox it may buckle. alfista's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=32396 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115078 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Squeezebox Classic V3 dead?
There is a long discussion on possible issues over here: https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?109775-Squeezebox-Classic-(SB3)-Repair-Consideration, that would be a good place to start. I would suggest to first check if the power supply still provides sufficient power, and the next step would be to check the internal wifi card - with a broken wifi card the device will not properly start up (if the squeezebox is able to start without the wifi card, then the wifi card has to be replaced or at least the broken card has to be removed). If its neither the power supply nor the wifi card, then most likely the capacitors have to be replaced, but that's not that easy. Good luck! Seems the SBv3 player name in the webgui was some kind of cache. The player is no longer visible. My router doens't show the SBv3 either. slimmert's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7104 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115078 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
[slim] Squeezebox Classic V3 dead?
My SB classic V3 has been my number one music player for the last 15 years. Connected with my 25 year old Sony Integrated Amp it never failed on me. Untill today... The display won't wake up. I power-cycled the unit, unplugged the power adapter for more than 5 minutes before reconnecting. Nothing. I hear a popping sounds when connecting the power with my amp powered on. So I guess the power adaptor is working. I can see the SB connecting on LMS ("Woonkamer") (version Logitech Media Server Versie: 8.1.1 - 1610364019 @ Thu Jan 14 06:27:19 CET 2021) and I can play a tune without any errors occuring in the LMS log. 35640 Whatever I do, there is no display and no music! This is bad. Any ideas?! Is this the end of my SB classic!!?? +---+ |Filename: Schermafbeelding 2021-09-02 143159.png | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=35640| +---+ slimmert's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7104 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115078 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
