Re: [slim] Please Help: Problems after downgrading to 7.0.1 (pause and music database)

2008-07-18 Thread Kaizen28

Thanks to some help from the support team at Slim Devices my problem is
solved and I have egg on my face.

Please go ahead and close this case.

After some digging the I've found that the root cause of the problem is
the ESET firewall software.

For reference, if anyone else encounters the problem, the following
will be seen in the firewall logs:

"Reverse TCP Desynchronization attack"

To resolve this just untick the "Reverse TCP Desynchronization attack"
option in the firewall settings (Personal Firewall > IDS and advanced
options > Intrusion detection).

Thanks to all who have helped!

I'm interested to hear how this is working for you.

My status is as follows:
1) "My Music" is now displayed on the Controller
2) Artists are shown in the database
3) Database scan time has been halved
4) Pausing a track sadly still resets to the beginning within 60
seconds with the following message in the logs:
[08-07-18 07:28:55.8565] Slim::Player::Source::errorOpening (1645)
Error: While opening current track, so mark it as already played!
[08-07-18 07:28:55.8572] Slim::Player::Source::errorOpening (1645)
Backtrace:

frame 0: Slim::Utils::Log::logBacktrace (/Slim/Player/Source.pm line
1645)
frame 1: Slim::Player::Source::errorOpening (/Slim/Player/Squeezebox2.pm
line 610)
frame 2: Slim::Player::Squeezebox2::failedDirectStream (/Slim/Networking/Slimproto.pm

frame 8: PerlSvc::Startup (perlsvc line 851)
frame 9: PerlSvc::_startup (slimserver.pl line 0)
frame 10: (eval) (slimserver.pl line 0)

What I did:
1) Uninstalled SC 7.0.1
2) Deleted ALL SC directories I could find. This includes the one under
"All Users"
3) Cleaned the registry
4) Reboot PC
5) Re-installed 7.0.1

2008-07-18 Thread Calodoucas

Hi,

I had exactly the same problems.

I downgraded to 7.0.1 and experienced the 'no artists' issue. I've
clean installed 7.0.2 - too early to say if all is OK, only
re-installed late last night. Will report further when I check my
system tonight.

I'd really prefer not to. I thought I had fixed most of the problems:

1) Reboot the PC
2) Rescan the library
3) Reboot the controller

During the library scan all was going well but something odd has
happened during the optimize phase. All the artists are lost. So I have
a few thousand track with 0 artists.

I can however browse my folder with the controller.

I downgraded because:
1) SuperDateTime stopped working with the Wednesday night build.
2) 7.1 has changed it's behavior which stops me browsing music folders
from my Philips Pronto
3) 7.1 introduced the problem that when pause is pressed the position
is reset to 0 within a minute.

In the log file I see the following repeated when I press pause:

[08-07-17 21:43:53.0344] Slim::Player::Source::errorOpening (1645)
Error: While opening current track, so mark it as already played!

IMHO 7.01 is broken. You should go to 7.1 and get that working. Why did
you downgrade?

You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it
ain't what you'd call minimal...SB3+Stontronics PSU - Altmann
JISCO/UPCI - TACT RCS 2.2X with Good Vibrations S/W - MF X-DAC
V3/X-PSU/X-10 buffer (Audiocomm full mods)- Linn 5103 - Linn Aktiv 5.1
system (6x LK140's, ESPEK/TRIKAN/KATAN/SEIZMIK 10.5), Townsend
Supertweeters, Kimber & Chord cables
