Re: [slim] Squeezebox Delivery via Logitech

2008-05-22 Thread Ramage

My Duet arrived today nearly 4 weeks since the order with Logitech UK.
Apart from not telling me that they were out of stock when I ordered,
it has gone well. Duet arrived from Germany in 2 days. Worth the wait
for the discount.

I had the duet up and running within 30 mins and I am well pleased with
the performance.

Great piece of kit.

Swiss company, designed in the US, made in China, ordered in the UK and
shipped from Germany. You sure you didn't order an Olympic torch?
Maybe they carried the bugger up Mt Everest on its way.

My Duet turned up on Thursday - a week and a half after ordering. It's
not too bad, I suppose, but a bit of communication about stock issues
would have helped to ease the wait. They should take advantage of the
email address you supply on ordering and just drop you a mail if it's
going to take longer than expected.

On a brighter note - the Duet is ace.

Re: [slim] Squeezebox Delivery via Logitech

2008-05-07 Thread Ramage

Just got a response from Logitech UK to my progress message today that
the Duet is out of stock, although I ordered the item (presumably in
stock) on 29 Apr and order acknowledged on 2 May.

They cannot give me any idea when they will get new stock at the
moment.

Disappointed with c**p customer service from Logitech, but seems
I have no alternative but to wait - I'd just like to know how long.

Anybody at Logitech (SlimDevices) offer any info on next shipment to
Europe?

I ordered my Duet on the 28th and I received a shipping notification
yesterday afternoon from Logitech (7th May). However UPS are still not
listing it as physically shipped .. 24h later and simply says billing
information received. Not holding my breath after reading other posts!

For who lives in Europe, I suggest to order online from Pixmania. It's
present in quite all Europe with a bit less price and cheaper shipping
costs than official Logitech Site. I buy my Duet here in Italy before
was available from Logitech itself.
Ciao, Riccardo

P.S.: Not at the US prices :-(

Re: [slim] Squeezebox Delivery via Logitech

2008-05-04 Thread Zaragon

I seem to recall when I ordered mine from the in the UK it said that it
could take up to a week (4-7 working days) for delivery. I wanted mine
for a particular reason so ordered it express even though it cost more.
I got it next day.

For express I got a TNT tracking number fairly quickly in the mail and
I think they do it for standard delivery as well but I haven't checked.

G... I've taken the plunge this week and ordered a Squeezebox Duet.
I've been deliberating over Squeezebox/Sonos for some time, and a
friend finally convinced me to take the plunge. I ordered via the
Logitech website on Monday. Come today, Thursday, I had not heard a
peep, so I phoned their e-commerce support line and spoke to a guy who
said that basically, there was a public holiday in a few countries in
Europe, so it hadn't been despatched yet from Germany, and he couldn't
check any more details because the system is hosted in Switzerland and
they weren't working today! What sort of system is this?

He then said - If you haven't heard from us by Tuesday, give us a ring
back! I can't believe it can take so long to get something sorted out,
and I can't believe the slapdash approach to customer service - this is
too long to wait for the product when they are all in stock.

Has anyone else experienced poor service like this?

I'm in the same boat - ordered from Logitech UK on Tues pm, haven't
heard anything yet, but with Mayday in Eurpope and BH in UK I'm not
expecting much 'till next week. The good news is I got 20% off, so I'm
happy to wait a few days - but not too many.

Unfortunately we have no control over the Logitech.com websites, and/or
EMEA ecom.

I'll send an email to the Logitech EMEA Web Manager to see what's
happening.

Just a thought tho... if it's a holiday over there, she might be out of
the office too.
