RE: [discuss] Japanese Input

2006-12-09 Thread John Niendorf
Thank you for your reply.
I didn't see Japanese listed under the CLT list; I thought that was for
Hebrew and other languages that are read right to left.

I did check the box to enable support for Asian languages though.

Thank you,

John

I'm not sure, if this helps you, but did you select the support for CTL
languages? Judging from your description, it doesn't seem to me, that you
enabled this.

I hope, that this is the solution for your problem, if not, then write
again :)

[discuss] Japanese Input

2006-12-09 Thread John Niendorf
Hello OO Folks,

I am trying to enable Japanese input using the current version of Open
Office running under Ubuntu 6.10.

I have SCIM installed with Anthy running.

I can type in Japanese in Gedit.

I can't seem to enable Japanese input in Open Office.

I went to the options setting and chose Japanese as the default language for
Asian languages.

I have a button for Hiragana and Katakana as well as Asian pronunciation
guide, however clicking the Hiragana or Katakana button doesn't seem to do
anything.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I've searched for Japanese Input in the
Open Office email list archives and the posts I found seem to be directed to
native Japanese who run the entire suite in Japanese all the time or for
people who are able to input in Japanese and want to enable Kanji shortcuts.

Thank you,

John
