I think it's a good idea to have a central place where all work on non-code extensions comes together and can be tracked easily. Ciao, Mathias One of serious gallery problem: It seem OOo mapping UNO gallery files wrongly to user home/OpenOffice.org2/user/gallery/... when gallery contains external (linked file)... This is the way how we can put a photo into the gallery. The correct mapping should be (example): home/OpenOffice.org2/user/uno_packages/cache/uno_packages/5.tmp_/OOOP-2.0.4-1-gallery.oxt/gallery/Photos/Flowers/rose_sv400157.jpg Can you confirm it? Is it a P2 category error? And even worse, the shared mode installed gallery file is also mapping to home/OpenOffice.org2/user/gallery/... Is it a P2 category error? No. Especially as this error is there for a long time. Gallery is not well prepared for becoming extended but that's not a P2 (that usually is used for crashes or data loss). If everything that doesn't work got a P2 that wouldn't help in priorisation, right? Hello! Possible issue: Remove package/extension does not happen immediately just after the restart of OOo. Is this a bug or by design? Is there name for Extensions or the name is the packagename? Is the versioning existing in ooo extensions? Best regards, KAMI

RE: [discuss] OxygenOffice.org's packages for OpenOffice.org
something that would be FANTASTIC is a page where people can download clipart, templates, extensions, etc. I know there is OOExtras (http://ooextras.sourceforge.net/downloads/english/) but there really should be an openoffice.org sponsored page on openoffice.org that is user managed, where registered users can upload clipart, audio clips, templates, extensions, and more. There should also be options to download preset packages; perhaps a method for users to mark items that they would include in a package and then name it, and the system could then include them in an easy download. I hate to reference Microsoft in something like this, but you may wish to check out the functionality of http://dgl.microsoft.com. It is a good example of how all this could work, minus the user package functionality. Of course, if they just added a Save to user package link in the download basket and have it write to some user list page, then this would take care of that. ;) Sincerely, Andrew Robertson Export Manager derma eR Natural Bodycare ph. 805-582-2710 xt. 244 fx. 805-582-2730 [EMAIL PROTECTED] www.dermae.net -Original Message- From: Justin Fitzgibbon [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Thursday, November 23, 2006 2:13 PM To: discuss@openoffice.org Subject: RE: [discuss] OxygenOffice.org's packages for OpenOffice.org That's great extensions/addins are the best way to avoid bloating out the standard installer after all not everyone needs templates or clip art right away. -Original Message- From: KAMI [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, 24 November 2006 3:56 AM To: discuss@openoffice.org Subject: [discuss] OxygenOffice.org's packages for OpenOffice.org Hello OpenOffice.org Fans! The gallery extension works fine at my first glance in OOo2.1.rc1 - only the (Hungarian?) names of some galleries (Fotók - Növények, Alakzatok) or gallery entries (Fürézfog, Zászlók - Németorszáz) could be translated one day... Nice to hear that. This is a bug in OpenOffice.org, that I haven't reported yet. If you use localized theme names and inject a new cliparts into theme the saved gallery theme file will contains theme name on UI language. I usually use Hungarian language the you get Hungarian theme names... Oooop :o( We use localized theme names in OxygenOffice Professional but the galleries in extensions do not support it. This is a second problem. OOo can use localized res files (it require compile) but we need xml based localizon facility for galleries. It also would be nice for included galleries not just for extensions. Gallery and template extensions are easy to be integrated in OOo (just click on Add in Tools - Extension manager and search for the .oxt files), but there should be a hint somewhere to close OOo before you search for the newly installed extensions. Yes you are right. Or are there any way to reinitialize the list of gallery and templates? It would be a very user friendly feature. As your website declares that all these templates and gallery items are licensed under LGPL (you should update your issues with this information) we should think about including *some of them* in the main product. Not all galleries and templates are licensed under LGPL. Some of them under PD, others have different license. We spent lot of efforts to clear the license related questions. I attached some file to inform you about progressions. Képtár - gallery and licenses README - templates with sources contrib.unknown - templates with unknown creator templates* - revision of templates The number of templates and cliparts is too large to include all of them while bloating the entire suite, but some more templates and clipart are important for marketing OOo in comparison to it's competitor. I agree here. We should select the best 200-400 cliparts (mainly not photos) and we should select the best 20-50 templates... Also we have to build a service for easy download of other templates/galleries. Petr Mladek created a great wikipage about this: http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Feature_-_Templates#Official_OOo_Templates_Web_Site Where should the discussion about this integration take place? IMHO the issues (http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=62405 and http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=62406) are not the right place - more people's opinion should be included. also 407, 408... But yes, 405-6 are the most interesting. So would it be appropriate to talk about this topic here? Yes, sure. Best regards Bernhard KAMI PS. The attached file blocked the mail delivery. I can send it to anyone if you are interested.
