[Discuss-gnuradio] Require specification for the SMA Connector
Hi All, I am facing a problem with the type of SMA connector that needed to be connected on the USRP (Rev 4.5) mother board at the J2001 location for the clock input and J2002 for the clock output. It would be really helpful if anybody can provide me the exact specification for this connector and the type of cable to be used with it. I was looking to reuse the cable which I am presently using to connect the SMA connector on the Daughter board and the Antenna. Any help is appreciated. [Discuss-gnuradio] Problem with Basic Tx-Rx Daughter Board
Hi All, I am facing a small problem with my basic Tx-R daughter boards. I am trying to transmit and receive a simple Cosine waveform of 40 Mhz and Amp of 10 using GRC and trying to see the transmitted-received signal on to the oscilloscope While probing into the transmitter DBA connector, I can see the transmitted cosine waveform on to the scope, but when I connect the transmitter and receiver using a DBA to DBA connector (that is connecting the transmitter and receiver directly) and probe the receiver, I am not able to see the transmitted cosine wave, but instead I can see a 60 Hz wave which I guess is the supply voltage freq, which remains even if I turn off my GRC . I tried to provide a ground using the ground pin (GND) on my Rx daughter board and also by different means but still face the same problem. Can anybody please help me to figure out this small issue. [Discuss-gnuradio] USRP Transmission
Hi all, Did any body else had a problem while transmitting through USRP board? I am using Basic Tx/Rx board. When I tried to send a sinusoidal signal of 50Khz (through GRC) and tried to look at at the transmitted signal on to the oscilloscope by probing the Tx SMA connector, it displayed a sinusoid of 25Mhz with a constant DC offset. I guess there is an up conversion to an IF frequency is been done in USRP, but do anybody know is there any fixed frequency the signal is up converted to? At what mamimum power can a signal be transmitted using USRP?Is there a way we can control Transmission Power? Also when I unplugged the power to USRP and the USB cable, then also I was able to see a sinusoid, on the scope, of 60Mhz. Is there anything we need to enable in order to make the transmitter work? Also is there any kind of reference manual available for the Basic TX/Rx Daughter board? Thanks Regards, Somya Ajmera New Email names for you! Re: [Discuss-gnuradio] USRP Basics questions
Hi Josh, on the SMA connectors I had connected my transmit receive antennas. I wanted to know if while transmitting and receiving signals using USRP sink and source blocks, can I silmatenously probe any pin on the transmit/receive daughter board inorder to see the signal out and in to USRP. Also I was trying to make an OFDM system by implementing the following blocks: Random Source:OFDM Modulator:USRP Sink [Minimum=0; [ Modulation:8 QAM [Unit Number=0 Maximum=2; FFT Length=512 Interpolation=400 Num Samples=1M Occupied tones: 200 Frequency=100M Repeat=Yes] CP Length: 128 Gain=0 Pad for USRP=Yes Side=Side A] Payload length=0] After running this, when I probed pin tx0 - tx7 on the daughter board, I was able to see some waveforms on the scope. But when I build the receiver system: USRP Source:---OFDM DeModulator:FFT Sink [Unit Number=0 [ Modulation:8 QAM Decimation=400 FFT Length=512 Frequency=100M Occupied tones: 200 Gain=0 CP Length: 128 Side=Side A RX Antenna=RXA ] I am get the following warning: ** (python:4085): WARNING **: IPP request failed with status 1030 Timeout and now if i probe the same pins on the daughter board, I am not able to see any waveforms. Can you please help me to figure out this behaviour. [Discuss-gnuradio] USRP Basics questions
Hi All, I was wondering about some basic functions of the USRP board: 1) To what carrier frequency does the USRP board (specifically AD9862) up converts the base band signal and how can we change that? 2) At what transmission power does the USRP board transmits? and how that can be controlled or regulated? 3) While using GRC, when we transmit the signal using the USRP block, how can we check or see the transmitted signal? Is there any pin on the USRP board which can be probed with the oscilloscope in order to view the transmitted signal. Hi , I am facing a problem in installing gnuradio-3.2. I was able to install gnuradio-3.1.3 properly but when I tried to install this newer version on the top of the older version, maximum of the packages are not getting configured including gnuradio-core and usrp. When I started installing this newer version I faced the same problem with the major packages, then one of my friend suggested to add the library path for some missing packages (mainly gsl-which was already installed on my system but the configure script was not able to detect it) and then by doing that I was able to get maximum of them configured and then I did the usual make, make check and make install. After that when I tried to run grc I got the following error : Traceback (most recent call last): File /usr/local/bin/grc, line 25, in module from gnuradio.grc.platforms.base.Constants import VERSION ImportError: No module named grc.platforms.base.Constants [r...@somya gnuradio]# I also tried by setting the path for Python, but was not able to get it over. but I was able to run any other python example namely the audio_tone one. Then I again tried to configure the newer version without adding any library path but faced the same problem with the packages. Most blocks have an output/input type that will tell you. I will add the color table back in somehow. In the meantime, blue=complex, red=float, green=int, yellow=short, purple=byte/char -josh Also how can i remove my previous version of gnuradio3.1.3, or no need to remove it. if you have the old build directory from 3.1.3, run sudo make uninstall this will also remove files that you want, so... then in your current gnuradio build directory, run sudo make install -Josh Hi Josh, I am facing the same problem as Tushar did. I am getting an error as follows: Traceback (most recent call last): File /usr/local/bin/grc, line 25, in module from gnuradio.grc.platforms.base.Constants import VERSION ImportError: No module named grc.platforms.base.Constants [r...@somya /]# I also tried the path solution which you mentioned in the earlier post, but it didn't worked for me. I had installed the latest version of GNU radio (gnuradio-3.2) and was trying to run GRC. Can you please help me for this. Also I was wondering that is it possible to see the source code associated with the flow graph that we make in GRC? or the source code of the specific block such as BPSK modulator?
