[libreoffice-documentation] review help

2014-09-19 Thread Gary Collins
Hi,

I wouldn't mind helping out for the review for base if you havent already got
enough.
I've had very little experience using base (or any database) and I might learn
something myself whilst being of service to others.
I don't have oodles of time, i've got quite a few things on the go - also i've
got limited access to internet at home - only on my phone - but access in the
office where I work 2.5 days/week, but I'm sure I could find some time to do
this.

If you think I could be of help, do let me know!

/Gary

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Re: Documentation Team needs reviewers for 5 chapter of Writer

2014-09-19 Thread Alan B
Hope I got started correctly.

per this link https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/Development
the Download a file for review section

I changed the state of Chapter 16 of the Writer Guide.

Step 4 of the instruction reads... Change the file's status: Click State:
Pending review and select Retract. (It changes to State: Internal
draft.)

State was actually Externally visible. However Retract was an option on
the list and after I selected Retract the state did change to Internal
Draft.

Appendix A still have not been taken. It's also helpful to review any
published chapter that doesn't have initials in the Reviewed column.

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Re: Documentation Team needs reviewers for 5 chapter of Writer

2014-09-19 Thread Alan B
Looked there and thought about updating it but also wondered if it might be
auto updated based on the checkout.

I thought the idea of checkout is to be sure no one else would checkout at
the same time. Kind of like a file lock. So by doing the checkout others
wouldn't grab that chapter (wouldn't be able to actually) thinking they
would do the work.

Anyway thanks for doing the update. It's all a learning process for me.

 Hi :)
 I'm not sure but this wiki-page might be good to update;

 https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/Development/UserGuideTasks#Status_of_tasks_-_WG_-_LO_v4.2

Do we still need to show people outside of ODFAuthors (such as me) what
the current status is of the various chapters? I'd kinda appreciate it but
i might be alone and this is the first time i've looked at the page in
 years.

It looks useful so i updated it for you jic

[libreoffice-documentation] Writer 4.2 Guide Chapter 12 for review

2014-09-19 Thread Jean Weber
The updated Chapter 12, ToCs, Indexes, Bibliographies is available
for review, along with other chapters.
http://www.odfauthors.org/libreoffice/english/writer-guide/drafts-v4.2/

This completes the draft book. As soon as chapters have been reviewed,
and revised as necessary, I will publish the chapters and compile the
full book. Please note that any major changes suggested (that is,
improvements rather than correcting errors) will probably be postponed
to the next update of the book. Improving the book is a very good
thing to do, but not at this stage of production... unless nobody
(except me) cares whether this book gets done in a reasonable time or
not. It's already very late.

How do I choose a chapter to review? I am particularly interested in
the forms area and would like to review this chapter.
