Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Blog with Tutorial collection | Sum up 1

2012-05-14 Thread Florian Reisinger

Hi!

In order to sum up the things so far:

1) We have a blog so far: http://libotutorials.wordpress.com/

2) We have a (IMHO off-line is also working ) tool:
http://www.screencast-o-matic.com/screen_recorder (Have not tested
offline yet..)

3) We have a platform for uploading videos ( For example: youtube,
myvideo, ... )

4) We have some mentors, who do not mind being contacted via Skype ( ME
and maybe loads of others too)

5) We have a way to make this things public easily (
planet.documentfoundation.org )

6) Certainly loads of people are doing (want to do) or tutorials AND/OR
want to make it public.

7) It, of course, is a idea we should give a lot of attention - Less
afford for us if [next point]

8) We need someone, or better, loads of people who make tutorials (
There is no must, that it is a video tutorial )

9) We could get a lot of people informed about this with the help of
social media (Florian E. [because IMHO he is doing a lot on Social
LibreOffice] AND OF COURSE _EVERYONE_ OF THE COMMUNITY IS VERY
IMPORTANT ( When I read this a second time, it sounded kind of 'wrong'...)

.
.
.
Loads of points to add...

Florian, that thread does not appear to have any advice on how
screencasts can be produced properly.

Ok

  It does include your reference
to an online service that you use. This is useful info, but I (and
probably others) prefer to use software installed on our own
computers.

Well I do too, but I couldn't find a proper solution ) I was unable to
work with camstudio...)

In my case it's because I have an expensive and unreliable
Internet service.

Would be good if we (and the Marketing folks) could put together some
more info, or point people to where to learn. Not just how to do it
technically, but tips on what to include or not include, approaches to
take, etc.

+1

Can you provide a link to the Marketing ML thread that provided the advice?

Are you planning to authorize multiple authors/editors on the WordPress account
that you reserved?

Subject: [libreoffice-documentation] Blog with Tutorial collection

Hi there!

My name is Florian Reisinger and I just subscribed to the documentation
ML. I am not new to the project, but normally I am writing @ the German
discuss and the Marketing / QA ML only...

A few days ago I had an idea: On the Marketing ML they talked about ( as
far as I can remember it) how screencasts can be produced properly.
I started thinking, how this tutorials can be made public:

I imagined a blog, where the creators can write a post about their
tutorials or make a blog post with their tutorial...

a) It is good to make tutorials public ( I am thinking of an integration
at TDF planet
b) Everyone would be a winner
c) Because everyone does the blog post on his own, it is not too much
work for a single person.

All in all I would volunteer and do all the background work!

If something is not described properly, please answer...
I _need_ your Feedback!

PS: IMHO http://libotutorials.wordpress.com
http://libotutorials.wordpress.com/ would be a great place ( I saved
this URL)

Yours
Florian

What a good idea! Thanks for starting this. We can link to it from
libodocs and other project blogs as well as adding it to the planet.

Please add me to the list of authorised people. My Wordpress user name
is jeanweber. I would like to be an admin, if that is okay with you.
