Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Getting Started Guide for LO 6.4

2020-04-19 Thread Stephen Fanning
 All,

I have (finally) finished my 2nd review of the draft Getting Started with
Base chapter of the 6.4 Getting Started Guide. Many apologies for the time
this took, but that was mainly due to the number of significant issues that
were found in the document when I downloaded it after the 1st review had
concluded.

I am recommending that this chapter re-starts its review cycle and Dan
Lewis has kindly agreed to do the 1st review of this update.

The updated file is in the Drafts folder (with changes tracked).

Regards,

Steve Fanning

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Getting Started Guide for LO 6.4

2020-03-26 Thread Stephen Fanning
Following discussion at this evening's Documentation Team meeting, I have
re-taken Chapter 8 (Base) for second review.

It was agreed that in areas of functionality where the system doesn't
currently work as intended, I should review the draft against the last
known working build which, in this case, was said to be 6.3.5.2.

Steve

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Getting Started Guide for LO 6.4

2020-03-25 Thread Stephen Fanning
As indicated in a separate thread, I've struggled to follow the
instructions specified in chapter 8 to create a table using the Table
Wizard. Bug 131576 has been raised.

So for the moment I have abandoned my review and removed my name from the
relevant entry in the Guide Status spreadsheet.

Is there a DevOps specialist that knows about how the server in the US
works or where the issue might be with an access point to the Documentation

proper person on that one.

I can authenticate locally in the US, but I can't open the door so to speak

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Getting Started Guide for LO 6.4

2020-01-20 Thread Stephen Fanning
I have returned Chapter 3 to the Feedback folder. I hope that my tracked
edits are correct and helpful. There are also a small number of queries in
the form of embedded comments.

I have taken Chapter 10 for first review.

If all tracked changes have been accepted and all comments resolved and
removed, the file goes in the Published folder. Otherwise, it goes
back
into Feedback for someone (in this case, probably me) to make final

Re: [libreoffice-documentation] Getting Started Guide for LO 6.4

2020-01-14 Thread kees538
I am sorry. I didn't notice the tracked changes, because they were
hidden.

I didn't realize the Show-option was disabled.
I now accepted the tracked changes and placed the file in the Published
folder again.

If all tracked changes have been accepted and all comments resolved and
removed, the file goes in the Published folder. Otherwise, it goes
back

into Feedback for someone (in this case, probably me) to make final

Hi Kees,

The concept is that the author who does the first update of a
chapter, or creates a new chapter, places their draft in the
Drafts folder. A reviewer then takes that draft and returns their
  review to the Feedback folder.

This workflow always worked reasonably well on ODF Authors, so
