[Dorset] Somewhat off-topic.
WinFF to convert the flv to audio; Audacity to process the audio; Pitivi to process the video; Kdenlive to assemble the components into the final product. Does anyone know a FOSS or near-FOSS application to actually capture the video in the first place? I currently have to drop it into a share on my XP virtual machine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5REknUB9krw Simono -- Next meeting: C4L and Bournemouth, Wednesday 2010-06-02 19:00 http://dorset.lug.org.uk/ http://www.linkedin.com/groups?gid=2645413 Chat: http://www.mibbit.com/?server=irc.blitzed.orgchannel=%23dorset List info: https://mailman.lug.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/dorset
[Dorset] Wireless Dongles on Fedora.
After Fedora sat there like a mule, it finally let me log in. I plugged in the new dongle and it worked immediately. Not bad for £7. Only niggle - it's only showing two bars at ten feet, so if you want to put a box in another room, probably better off buying a Belkin dongle. [Dorset] It's...the war...the damned war...
Fedora 1, Ubuntu 0 Fedora 0. ? Fedora could read my Ubuntu share straight away, but was impervious to being read. In my efforts to fix up a samba share, I broke my lovely 10.4 share. Still no access, and now Fedora can't get into Ubuntu anymore. For about five minutes, Ubuntu Samba 'found' the Fedora computer, but couldn't mount the drive; Fedora couldn't even mount its own drive! Eventually after a further hour of silent fail and loss of the workgroups, I tried Fedora network printing through my router. Finally a success! :( Simono -- Next meeting: C4L and Bournemouth, Wednesday 2010-06-02 19:00 http://dorset.lug.org.uk/ http://www.linkedin.com/groups?gid=2645413 Chat: http://www.mibbit.com/?server=irc.blitzed.orgchannel=%23dorset List info: https://mailman.lug.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/dorset

A lot of the time you will find the file is saved under /tmp at least when viewed with firefox but It will get deleted when browser window closed. also about:cache in Firefox lists a lot of info in where files are saved i used to use the downloadhelper firefox pluging but lately its not been working for me well http://www.downloadhelper.net/ On 28/05/10 07:48, Simon O'Riordan wrote: WinFF to convert the flv to audio; Audacity to process the audio; Pitivi to process the video; Kdenlive to assemble the components into the final product. Meanwhile I've back to square one with the Fedora networking, except I've now got 2 and 3/4 out of 3 working; the Fedora can see its own shares and the Ubuntu computer, and Ubuntu/Ubuntu sharing has recovered. All I need to do now is get the blasted Fedora to expose the share to Ubuntu.
