[Dorset] Ubuntu startup problem
Hi all, Can anyone shed light on the following Ubuntu 10.10 problem:- During startup the screen 'GNU GRUB version 1.98+20100804-ubuntu3' seams to have cloned itself. It shows Ubuntu, with Linux 2.6.35-23-generic Ubuntu, with Linux 2.6.35-23-recovery mode Ubuntu, with Linux 2.6.35-22-generic Ubuntu, with Linux 2.6.35-22-recovery mode All this is repeated eight times followed by Memory Test(memtest86+) Memory Test(memtest86+, serial console 115200) This is repeated eight times followed by Microsoft Windows XP Home edition (on /dev/sda1) This is repeated eight times. Everything seems to work OK. [Dorset] Files lost
Hi All, I seem to have really screwed things up! I was trying to get rid of some unwanted data from a Shotwell database and now all my folders are empty and all icons have gone from the desktop. The command I put in was rm -rf ~/ .shotwell/Examples I got a message telling me it was busy and it seemed to do nothing. I have tried restoring the last complete backup plus incrementals but still no files to be found. Can anyone help please?
