As an ex-student (I have an Alumni card!) this is interesting.
Transport links should be good too, but parking space would need to be
investigated.

The Dorset Digital group meet in the Goat and Tricycle for their
Bournemouth meetings. We are made welcome there, and on a weekday
evening it isn't too busy or noisy. Good range of real ale and
food too. http://www.goatandtricycle.co.uk/

Best regards,

Had a look at their web page. They need to run a spell checker on
it. That puts me off for a start.

Also it is possible down there that we would have to pay for parking.

Once before I suggested that we meet at Bournemouth University in
their upstairs bar. Any students able to comment? It has wifi.

[Dorset] Last nights meeting and thanks

2013-06-05 Thread C A Wills
Interesting evening as we had to move out of 'the snug' due to a darts
team needing the dart board which could not be moved from the snug.
Instead we commandeered the bay window area.

Personally I'd like to thank Ralph and especially Tim for giving me
information on finding my network printer which under Mint 14 Cinnamon
64 I could not locate and connect. Thanks Tim, within 10 mins of using
your suggestion (System-config-printer) I'd connected and printed test
page and it's now the default, thanks.

Rory - if you read this I have a copy of a live disk with 3 versions of
Mint 14 on it ready for you, contact off list for info please for location.

10+ turned up and seemed to enjoy the night.
We may have to look for another location as pubs under new management
and it may not be possible to use the snug every meeting - any suggestions.

Due to layout I'm not sure of any other topics discussed at 'other end'
so the others please add info on discussions.

I'd rather we didn't meet at the Goat, for diversity's sake (some people go
to both groups). There must be other pubs we can meet at?Anyway, last
night, the bay window turned out to be quite good I thought.

Parking on the roads in the area is free after 7pm.

However Natalie makes a VERY good point about variety for people who are
members of both groups.
