Hi Terry

I don't seemed to have Peters email but if you are having a problem
with Wireless USB adaptors and your Raspberry Pi I have a couple of
WiFi USB adaptors that you can have to try, plugged both into my
SolydX (Debian Testing) PC and both came up and listed my wireless
network. One is the Zyxel G-202 and the other lists is self as a
Sitecom under lsusb

Give me a shout if you want them.

Tim

Hi Tim, I think that I bought the ones that I used from you.

No, I just realised that Peter sent the message to me and not the list.
Sometime between V3 and V4 pf KDE, KMail changed the way that it dealt with
messages from mailing lists. Add to that the fact that Ralph changed the list
behaviour and me getting on now and I find myself replying off-list to list
messages and on-list to private ones ;-(

No. I don't have a problem; I think that Peter's original message was to let
me have access to the information if I needed it. I don't because my Edimax
device worked perfectly.

I have an Edimax EW-7318USg USB adaptor, which lsusb says uses a Ralink
Technology, Corp.
RT2501/RT2573 chipset. It works out of the box on any Linux box I've ever
tried it on, including
the Pi.

I bought it some years ago, at a time when most wireless devices needed to have
a few hoops
negotiated before they would work (usually by running the Windows Driver in a
wrapper). The
company that sold it guaranteed that it would work on Linux (I can't quite
remember who it
was (maybe www.linuxemporium.co.uk)) and they haven't been proved wrong yet.
