True, since the recipients email address will be in the ndr already anyway... :) Thanks Timo - dovecot just gets better and better... -- Best regards, Charles

Here are some ideas for improvements: "Mail storage disk quota exceeded" "User's mail storage disk quota exceeded" "Quota exceeded - not enough disk storage capasity for the user" Any better ideas? I think it should mention "quota" word in any case so that people who understand it would know immediately what the error message is about. "mailbox is full" seems to be the phrase that people understand best - it's the phrase they use when their physical mail box (postal box) is full. So maybe: "Mailbox for $user is full - quota exceeded" or "Mail storage for $user is full - quota exceeded" I don't know if "full" translates well into other languages. Unlike you and so many others on this list, I only speak one language. Ron

I think it should mention "quota" word in any case so that people who understand it would know immediately what the error message is about. The current code doesn't allow cleanly using separate messages for 1) and 2), so I'd prefer to use the same one. But if you've a great suggestion for them separately I could do it. ts> The first line is also configurable in v1.1. "Quota exceeded" text ts> itself isn't though. That's good since not every site wants to tell random outsiders that a user's quota is full. I know it's common practice, but it's really a holdover from the early days of email where there wasn't much concern for privacy or security.

[Dovecot] Quota Exceeded message
Any plans on having custom Quota Exceeded messages in the future (or now)? I'd love to be able to put the exceeding username in the message to help with some issues. Thanks, Cassidy
