[drakelist] sp75 cabinet wanted
Hello, Does anyone have a spare newer cabinet for the SP75? I was able to change out all my cabinets to the new style on my 7 line except the SP75. Thanks and 73 Mark W0NCL
[drakelist] RV-75 and R-7 problem
I have just completed some testing and wonder if anybody else has observed this problem when using an RV-75 with the R-7 or R-7A receiver; the use of the TR-7 or TR-7A transcieving with the receiver has no effect on test results. The R-7 or R-7A never has the PTO completely shut off when using the RV-75 for frequency control. When the RV-75 controls the frequency, the R-7 or R-7As PTO always controls a frequency that is present, although only at an S1 to S2 level. For example, let's say you turn on the crystal calibrator on the R-7 and listen at 7300 and set the PTO to hear the tone of the calibrator. Then switch on the RV-75, whatever frequency the RV-75 is tuned to will be heard, but ALWAYS in the background will be the tone from the calibrator, at about an S1-2. If you turn the calibrator off, what ever is on that frequency will then be heard at an S1-2 level, in addition to whatever is being heard on the frequency controlled by the RV-75. I know what you're thinking now so let me provide added information. I've done the test and have mixed and matched the following...three different RV-75s, two R-7s, and one R-7A. Since they all have the same problem, I conclude that it isn't just one receiver nor just one RV-75. What is the probability that all three receivers and/or all three RV-75s all have the same problem? My conclusion is that that either all three R-7s have the problem and/or all three RV-75s have the problem. So my question is, has somebody else had this problem and corrected it? If so, would you be so kind as to share your insights into the problem? Right now, I don't know if all three receivers are the cause of the problem or if all three RV-75s are the cause. But I'd like to fix all of them. [drakelist] Trade for TR-7?
I would love to add a TR-7 or TR-7A in good to excellent condition to my Drake collection. I would prefer it have the CW filter and power supply. The catch is I need to trade as funds and space are a little low right now. I have an Icom IC-718 I purchased new 2 years ago that I can trade. It has an Inrad 400 Hz CW filter and the Icom UT-106 DSP installed. The 718 is in great shape - looks and works like brand new. Anyone wanta swap? Please e-mail me [EMAIL PROTECTED] 73, Bill
[drakelist] Drake TR-4 LSB Filter
Good afternoon to all, I just acquired a TR-4 today that appears to be in good physical shape. The previous owner had received it in a non-working condition (unknown what is wrong) and removed the LSB filter to repair another TR-4 he owned. No other parts were removed nor work performed on the rig while in his hands. So what I have is a good looking TR-4 that is inoperative for an unknown reason(s) and has no LSB filter. I haven't brought it home yet so I don't know what it looks like inside. I should get to that tonight. I'll see if I can get it going on USB (assuming that filter is good). While I have worked on a number of "B" and "C" lines I have no experience with the transceivers nor the availability of parts. Before I begin work on this unit I need to know if the LSB (and USB) filters are available and what I can expect to pay for them. If the price is too high it may not make sense for me to repair the rig. If that is the case I may part out the pieces or offer the rig as a parts donor. Your advise is appreciated. [drakelist] TR-3 calibrations plastic dial
Hi fellow Drake mavens, I'm in need of the clear plastic (frequency numbers) disc to replace the damaged one in my TR-3...It was rubbing on something inside the radio and some of the numbers are rubbed off I think the TR-4 disc is the same, so anyone have either one?? Re: [drakelist] am resistor
Dan -- my R4C (SN 29XXX version) schematic says 150 ohms...I double checked by looking at the resistor that I removed many, many years ago and it in fact is a 150 ohm 1W resistor. Can anyone tell the value of the resistor that goes in the am slot on the R-4C? 150? 150k? thanks Dan -- Submissions:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Subscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - subscribe drakelist in body Unsubscribe:[EMAIL PROTECTED] - unsubscribe drakelist in body Hopelessly Lost:[EMAIL PROTECTED] - help in body of message Brought to you courtesy of TLCHost.net http://www.tlchost.net/ --

If things are working properly, there should be no discernable difference on received signal purity with the RV-75. It sounds like there is a problem either in the connection between the two units, or in the RV-75 itself. I use an RV-75 with a TR-7/R-7 combination, and have never experienced a problem like you describe. [drakelist] R-7A/RV-75 Question
Hello, I have recently obtained an RV-75 remote VFO for my R-7A. I notice that when the RV-75 is plugged in to the adapter on the rear of the R-7A, and turned on to control receive frequency, received signals take on a very rough-sounding tone. Switch back to the R-7A internal VFO and turn off the RV-75, and the received signals sound normal again (clean "9" tone). I don't have a scope to trace or look at voltages. I wonder if anyone on the list might have experienced this anomaly with the external VFO? --Ed G-- -- Submissions:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Subscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] - subscribe drakelist in body Unsubscribe:[EMAIL PROTECTED] - unsubscribe drakelist in body Hopelessly Lost:[EMAIL PROTECTED] - help in body of message Brought to you courtesy of TLCHost.net http://www.tlchost.net/ --
