[drakelist] Old Manuals
Harold Polk [EMAIL PROTECTED] made an utterance to the drakelist gang -- I think this may be off topic, but since y'all are such helpful Hams, I though I would see if anyone would like to have some old manuals that I have. The following manuals are listed below and I thought I would like to give to someone or one's that can put them to a good use. If the numbers on the last page is an indication of the vintage they are from the 1950’s. Instruction Manual for the National Model NC-98 Radio Receiver. Instruction Manual for the National Model NC-88 Radio Receiver. Instruction Manual for the National Model SW-54 Radio Receiver (3 copies). Instruction Manual for the National Model NC-46 Radio Receiver. Instruction Manual for the National Model HRO-60 Radio Receiving Equipment. Instruction Book for Temco Model 75-GA And a Barker Williamson Amateur Radio Catalog These manuals and catalog are available to anyone who can use them. All the documents are in good condition, slightly yellowed pages but no folds. Some have a few written words on them or a stamped address but are, what I would consider, very good condition. Re: [drakelist] TR-7 Receiver Noise

It most likely was located on the 2nd IF / Audio board. It is Q1113 a 2N3904 (the last stage before the audio IC) who caused a same kind of noise and rumble in the TR7A of PA3AJI. The replacement is a BC549, a low noise type transistor. I have a TR7 that tends to break into osc. in the audio area. The sound is hear on RX and is also present faintly on TX. A Drake engineer said he had never heard of it happening before and could not find it when the radio was sent to Drake for service. The sound begins after about 30 minutes of use and can be stopped by keying the mic but sometimes it will not stop at all. Anyone heard of this happening before and if you have what did you do to fix it. Serial number of radio is a little on the plus side of 4000 I don't have the extender boards so working on the radio if a bit difficult for this type of thing. [drakelist] DRAKE NET 14238 2000Z
Harold Polk [EMAIL PROTECTED] made an utterence to the drakelist gang -- Tuned up my TR7 and listened around 14238, heard nothing here in AZ. Lots of signals on the band and it sounded like the skip was there, but no one for the Drake Net. Guess Mother Nature is riding her broom again ;-)) However, 10 meters was jumping.
