Re: [Drakelist] TR4 Versions Manuals Supplementary Instructions
I think there were at least three versions of the TR-3. I have an early version. 73, Bob WW3QB --- On Fri, 3/26/10, n9...@juno.com n9...@juno.com wrote: From: n9...@juno.com n9...@juno.com Subject: Re: [Drakelist] TR4 Versions Manuals Supplementary Instructions To: k4...@mindspring.com Cc: drakelist@zerobeat.net Date: Friday, March 26, 2010, 1:46 PM Garey I sure am glad I have a TR-3, I do not have chase down which version I have, HI, HI.. Re: [Drakelist] TR4 Versions Manuals Supplementary Instructions
Bob I was aware of the different versions, but I have the regular manual and service info, I am the second owner of the rig and the former owner had both which makes it nice at least for me. Have not had to do any major repair as of yet anyway and still has original finals which are still pumping out enough power for me. It is used pretty much every day and has been a great rig so far, hopefully it will last for a few more. Guy N9XBG Hotel Hotel pics, info and virtual tours. Re: [Drakelist] TR4 Versions Manuals Supplementary Instructions
We are into trivial persuit big time :) I have a late model TR4-CW/RIT (Ser. # 44679) - the original manual had TR-4Cw on the cover, and the manual has the correct photo showing the three position side band switch (the third position is the 500 Hz CW position), plus the RIT and Noise Blanker buttons. The manual has two Supplemental Instructions (and schematics) on pages iv to vii before the Introduction. The rest of the manual does not mention the rit or the cw filter. It is obviously the basic TR-C manual because the main schematic does not show any of the supplemental options. I have aTR-4 version with the NB switch and the socket labeled for 34PNB. The manual copy I have shows a picture on the cover with the NB switch but the manual does not seem to mention the switch nor does the schematic include the NB socket... Are there more versions of the manual/schematic around? Re: [Drakelist] TR4 Versions Manuals Supplementary Instructions
Kris - Yep, I don't think there ever was a TR-4Cw/RIT manual as such. They just took the last TR-4Cw manual, s/n 42500 (with it's two page 'Addendum' covering the 500 Hz filter) and the two additional pages for the RIT circuitry. This one had a photo of the 'Cw on the cover. There was NO documentation for the NEW (and different) PTO in the 'RIT model. 73, Garey - K4OAH Glen Allen, VA Drake 2-B, 4-B, C-Line TR-4/C Service Supplement CDs www.k4oah.com Kris Merschrod wrote: We are into trivial persuit big time :) I have a late model TR4-CW/RIT (Ser. # 44679) - the original manual had TR-4Cw on the cover, and the manual has the correct photo showing the three position side band switch (the third position is the 500 Hz CW position), plus the RIT and Noise Blanker buttons.
