Please do not reply to this email: if you want to comment on the bug, go to the URL shown below and enter yourcomments there. https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=4116 Summary: DRM CVS: (II) RADEON(0): [drm] drmAddMap failed, Direct Rendering Disabled. Disabling DRI. And yes, it is normally working. Switched back to modules from my kernel version and got DRI back up. Full Xorg.0.log in http://hdr.unk.fi/~drac/drm.txt And don't get confused by errors by Multimedia -modules, I had to remove them cause with them, X kills whole machine (hardlockup). This didn't happen with 6. 9RC0 tarball. drmAddMap failed
Hello, I wanted to test a bit the r300 drv on g5 but i get a drmAddMap failed. I see a issue related to this in the archive (september 2004). I assume it's have been fixed. My drm version is the one from r300 (linux-core) but i guess there little difference between this trunk and the official one. Thus anyone got an idea from where this may came from ? May it came from the agp driver ? No my Xserver fail to initialize DRI, it fails with drmAddMap. it says: [drm] drmAddMap failed And then tells there is no dri. I wanted to test r300 driver. I have no more logs of that has i crashed my system. Anyway, i first thought that there was somethings wrong with r300, but i may have find the origin of the issue and it is not related to drm. Some PPC (G5) stuff with agp. I need to do more test. By the way, is there any flags that tell drm to verbose a bit on what it does ? best, Jerome Glisse --- The SF.Net email is sponsored by: Beat the post-holiday blues Get a FREE limited edition SourceForge.net t-shirt from ThinkGeek. Re: Radeon M6 (r200) - [drm] drmAddMap failed
I appreciate the quick response! I just caught up with this e-mail chain and have not had a chance to try anything. My DRM is dated and broken among other things but it also looks like there's some vigorous activity on getting the DRI code patched as well. Let me know if I can assist in some way (testing maybe at this point) but it seems like you all took this and ran with it pretty well already. Jay On Mon, 2004-09-20 at 13:36, Jon Smirl wrote: Felix, I'm removing the size check from addmap with a permanent map. I've now encountered X asking for maps both smaller and larger that what the hardware allows. This is why we need to get this code out of X an into the driver. I'll fix the code to map the legal value for the hardware (from the permanent map) and return that info to X.

Re: Radeon M6 (r200) - [drm] drmAddMap failed
Felix, I'm removing the size check from addmap with a permanent map. I've now encountered X asking for maps both smaller and larger that what the hardware allows. This is why we need to get this code out of X an into the driver. I'll fix the code to map the legal value for the hardware (from the permanent map) and return that info to X. -- Jon Smirl [EMAIL PROTECTED] --- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: YOU BE THE JUDGE. [Bug 1023] New: Radeon IGP345M - drmAddMap failed
Please do not reply to this email: if you want to comment on the bug, go to the URL shown below and enter yourcomments there. https://freedesktop.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1023 Summary: Radeon IGP345M - drmAddMap failed Product: DRI Version: DRI CVS Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: minor Priority: P2 Component: General AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED] I'm using DRI CVS, Mesa CVS, DRM CVS and XOrg CVS with my Radeon IGP345M. Things are working in general but when I log out back to Entrance, 3D acceleration appears to stop working. Note that Entrance is also using 3D acceleration. It starts working again when I use Ctrl+Alt+Backspace but this only became true recently. I checked the same stuff out a week ago (except for XOrg, which was version 6.7.0) and restarting X would not fix the problem most of the time, though occasionally it would, perhaps with a sufficient delay? Checking the log produced by XOrg, I see this... drmOpenDevice: node name is /dev/dri/card0 drmOpenDevice: open result is 7, (OK) drmOpenDevice: node name is /dev/dri/card0 drmOpenDevice: open result is 7, (OK) drmOpenByBusid: Searching for BusID pci::01:05.0 drmOpenDevice: node name is /dev/dri/card0 drmOpenDevice: open result is 7, (OK) drmOpenByBusid: drmOpenMinor returns 7 drmOpenByBusid: drmGetBusid reports pci::01:05.0 (II) RADEON(0): [drm] DRM interface version 1.2 (II) RADEON(0): [drm] created radeon driver at busid pci::01:05.0 (II) RADEON(0): [drm] drmAddMap failed (EE) RADEON(0): [dri] DRIScreenInit failed.
