Hi Peter, I've just gotten back online this morning. Yes, this is an issue that needs to be addressed. We have a much larger problem in that the rsync process was decommissioned rather quietly in favor of the sonatype release process. This really puts us in a spot. I will need to step in and work out the details here so that we can sonatype publishing working. Would it be quicker / easier for us - for the purposes of the release candidate and testathon - to use a DSpace repository without it syncing to the central servers? Peter, I'm wondering if the central repo maintainers may have dropped syncing the maven.dspace.org repository and instead are now syncing using the sonatype repository. I will be traveling the next day, maybe I can look into it Sunday night/Monday morning.
