[dspace-tech] Organizing Journal Articles

2020-02-10 Thread Arunendra M. Biswas
Hello,
I have read the thread [Dspace-tech] Best Practices for Journal Articles
and actually I want to implement a structure similar to
https://dml.cz/handle/10338.dmlcz/142102

The solution provider seems unavailable for the time being.

I am only using a combination of community,sub-community, collection.

I am unaware of the requirements and method of usage of dcterms.isPartOf
and hasPartOf metadata fileds, so could not start to experiment it.

A help would be nice.

Re: [dspace-tech] Help me on Researcher Profile DSpace-CRIS

2020-02-10 Thread Bollini Andrea
Hi,
if the RP are created automatically as part of a submission they should
have at least the fullName property filled with the author name.

Do you see any error in the logs at the end of the submission? have you
loaded the datamodel configuration file (see point 9
https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSPACECRIS/Installation ) ?

The quicker way to batch remove RP is to export the data in excel and
use the export as input file for the import feature, you only need to
add a first column with header ACTION and value delete on all rows
https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSPACECRIS/XLS+Import+and+Export+tool

An url to check online your repository is often useful to provide help.

[dspace-tech] Re: ORCID Patch Functionality Missing

2020-02-10 Thread Jolien (Atmire)

Dear Glenn,

We were able to reproduce your problem by creating the patch through the
GitHub UI compare. The problem is that it comes through as straight text
this way, whereas we would need a .patch file if we want the file with the
ORCID badge to be included as well.

To mitigate the issue, we have created the relevant patch files for both
DSpace 5 and 6. We have also updated the download link in the patch
documentation so that it links to those patches instead of the compare
view. For reference, here is the link for the DSpace 6 version:
https://github.com/atmire/expanded-ORCID-support/blob/master/patches/dspace_6x.patch
. In case you would like to create the patch yourself, you can find the
instructions on how to do this here:
https://atmire.github.io/expanded-ORCID-support/#/prerequisites?id=download-patch
.

If you try to apply the patch with the .patch file, the ORCID badge file
should be added correctly. Please do let me know if this does not work.

Best wishes,

Jolien

The "Internal system eror" message means that you should check the log
files around the time of the error to find clues about what actually
failed.

Hi Wally,

I know you mentioned you'd like to do this all in Tomcat, but I've found it
much easier to force HTTPS in Apache itself. We've got a guide in the
Installation Docs for setting up Apache on port 80 / 443 in front of DSpace:

https://wiki.lyrasis.org/display/DSDOC6x/Installing+DSpace#InstallingDSpace-UsingSSLonApacheHTTPDinfrontofTomcat(runningonports80and443)

When using Apache, once you have DSpace running on both 80 and 443, you can use
a simple RewriteRule to redirect everything from port 80 to 443. That'd look
something like this in your for port 80

# Redirect all HTTP requests to HTTPS
RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule ^(.*) https://mars.gmu.edu$1 [R=permanent,L]

Subject: [dspace-tech] Trying to force port 80 -> 443 on Tomcat 7, Dspace 6.3

Trying to enable https on our dSpace installation. I'm trying to do this
without putting Apache in front of our Tomcat 7 instance that serves up dSpace.

One other wrinkle:

I want to run DSpace on port 80 and 443 because I don't want port numbers in
the URLs

I have the site working as a http:// site and as an https:// site

http://mars.gmu.edu

https://mars.gmu.edu

What I can't get working is moving users who come in on http://mars.gmu.edu
over automatically to https://mars.gmu.edu.

Have tried various settings in web.xml but when I get one that DOES handle the
automatic redirection of users from port 80 to port 443, it breaks some
internal connections...such that I see my communities listed on the xmlui "home
page" but no items, no facets, etc. Maybe that's a SOLR connection issue? Not
sure.

Any suggestions welcomed...
