[dspace-tech] display number of items in community dspace 7

2022-05-10 Thread Seun Adewoye
Hi everyone,

Please I need help on how to display number of items in community dspace 7.
Can't find webui.strengths.show in dspace.cfg file.

[dspace-tech] Re: Dspace7 : adding facet/filter by community/collection?

2022-05-10 Thread Marie-Hélène Vézina - UdeM
Thank you @Darryl. I had seen the first thread but not the second one.

Reading your comment I realized I had not seen the lack of facets on
collection/community page, rather the other way around : there is no
collection facet to filter the search results... Either way I understand
that there is an unmet need with the Dspace7 user interface regarding
narrowing by collection(s). It will be interesting to see if this need is
expressed more strongly as the adoption of Dspace 7 increases.

 Hi Marie-Hélène,

Somewhere along the way, we accidentally turned off (or broke) the
feature which allows you to search within a Community/Collection.
We're working on fixing it in this ticket
 https://github.com/DSpace/dspace-angular/issues/1588

You also might be able to simply turn it back on by default by changing
"showScopeSelector" to "true" in the SearchFormComponent:
 https://github.com/DSpace/dspace-angular/blob/main/src/app/shared/search-form/search-form.component.ts#L70

(I'll admit though that I'm not sure if this will resolve the issue
entirely...but follow that ticket for more info.

Oh I didn't realize that we lost this feature (facets per collection). I'm
not there yet in my Dspace 7.2 instance configuration Too bad indeed,
we also have metadata specific to our thesis collections (discipline,
thesis advisor, etc.) that we offer only for these collections in our
DSpace 5 XMLUI.

Re: [dspace-tech] error building

2022-05-10 Thread Alan Orth
Dear all,

I am working to provide a solution to build Mirage 2 without Ruby for
DSpace 6.4. It relies only on Node.js and npm, removing the dependency on
Ruby and bower, which solves several issues I see people having in this
thread. If you are willing and able to test, we would appreciate your
feedback:

- Pull request: https://github.com/DSpace/DSpace/pull/8292
- Patch:
https://patch-diff.githubusercontent.com/raw/DSpace/DSpace/pull/8292.patch

This applies cleanly on top of the current dspace-6_x branch. Once the
patch is applied you can build like this:

$ mvn -U -Dmirage2.on=true -Dmirage2.deps.included=true clean package

We would especially appreciate people who have custom Mirage 2
modifications to provide feedback.

Thank you,

[dspace-tech] Re: Dspace7 : adding facet/filter by community/collection?

2022-05-10 Thread darryl....@usask.ca
Marie-Hélène, it seems the existing 6.x ability to facet during browse was
only available in the XMLUI (not JSPUI), and the DSpace 7.x frontend seems
to draw more from JSPUI. So as I understand it, the ability to
filter/facet is only available for search results, not while browsing
communities or collections. These 2 threads have some additional details:

How can I allow my end users to filter their global item search results

and is it possible to allow end users to search within a single
 community/collection, not All of Dspace?

 Thank you,

2022-05-10 Thread Marie-Hélène Vézina - UdeM
May I ask again if there are any plans to add a filter/facet by collection
? Actually, with the ScopeSelector added, the collection must be chosen at
the very beginning of the search process. It would be usefull to be able to
filter results by collections.

Many thanks,

[dspace-tech] dspace-cris 5.x upgrade to dspace-cris 7.x

2022-05-10 Thread Wan Mohamad Azren Wan Mohamad Yusoff
Hi I'm doing a test upgrade of dspace-cris 5.x to dspace-cris 7.x and
having issues during data migration from dspace-cris 5.

My current setup are as follows:

1. dump PostgreSQL database from dspace-cris 5 (old server)
2. Setup a new server (Ubuntu 20.04) and configure all backend dspace-cris
7 requirements
3. restore dspace-cris 5 PostgreSQL database into the new server
4. Completed dspace-cris 7 backend installation
5. Migrate database successfully
./dspace database migrate ignore-missing
6. Using Pentaho Data Integration (PDI) Community Edition migrate data from
dspace-cris 5.x to 7 but failed with the following error messages:

[dspace-tech] Re: OAI-PMH DSpace 7.2

2022-05-10 Thread Jan Broulím
Yes, I also tried 'dspace oai import -c' for full import
Any suggestions? Do you have some instance where can be seen how dspace oai
should look like? https://sulis29.zcu.cz/server/oai seems not working
properly.
Thanks
