[dspace-tech] DSpace 7 - inquire about the trusted repository

2024-02-29 Thread R-Raman Bhardwaj
Dear All,

I am writing to inquire about the capabilities of DSpace as a trusted
repository based on OAIS and ISO 16363 standards.

As we are considering implementing DSpace for our repository needs, it is
crucial for us to ensure that it aligns with the necessary standards for
trusted digital repositories. Specifically, we are interested in knowing if
DSpace has the outbox, OAIS, and ISO 16363 standard-based features, or if
there are additional components or configurations that we need to consider
for implementation.

Your guidance and expertise in this matter would be highly valuable to us.
We are keen on ensuring that our repository meets the required standards
for long-term preservation and access to digital content.

I would appreciate any insights or recommendations you may have regarding
this matter.

Thank you for your attention to this inquiry. I look forward to your
guidance and advice.

Regards,

Radharaman Bhardwaj

Re: [dspace-tech] Getting rid of jats-Tags in CrossRef-Import

2024-02-29 Thread Sascha Szott

Hi,

we've provided a PR in Github to remove JATS tags in CrossRef abstracts:

https://github.com/DSpace/DSpace/pull/9386

Best regards
Sascha

Hi,

we are facing the same problem in the abstract field of the JSON
response returned by CrossRef.

I've created a Github issue in the DS CRIS project:
https://github.com/4Science/DSpace/issues/435

But now I realize that this function is not CRIS specific. Currently, we
are trying to provide a bug fix by removing the JATS markup.

I'll move the issue (and PR) to the DSpace Github project.

Best regards,
Sascha

Hi Group,

abstracts imported from CrossRef often contain jats-tags (Journal
Publishing Tag Set). DSpace does not seem to interpret these tags but
instead shows them as normal text which is ugly an requires manual
fixing.
Does anyone have an established solution to remove these tags during
import?
Or is there a way to make DSpace interpret the tags for display so we
could keep them?

Cheers
Jarmo

[dspace-tech] 7.6.1 ORCID authentification fail

2024-02-29 Thread Andrew K
Hello!

I moved from 7.6 server to a 7.6.1 server.
Looks like every possible setting is made.
But ORCID authentification fails (worked in 7.6).

Nothing special in the logs.
What else do I miss?

UPD: That looks like a seriuos bug: after a failed ORCID login I enter
admin credentials, press Login and... I'm logged with the ORCID profile,
not admin!

Thanks,
Andrew

[dspace-tech] Re: 7.6.1 ORCID authentification fail

2024-02-29 Thread Andrew K
UPD: It's the same issue https://github.com/DSpace/DSpace/issues/9109
Moving
*plugin.sequence.org.dspace.authenticate.AuthenticationMethod =
org.dspace.authenticate.PasswordAuthentication*
before
*plugin.sequence.org.dspace.authenticate.AuthenticationMethod =
org.dspace.authenticate.OrcidAuthentication*
fixed the ORCID authentification.

Also, ORCID login button moved down where it was before. Great

[dspace-tech] item with many files not working.

2024-02-29 Thread bens...@gmail.com
In dspace 7.6.1 I had an item with 25 files in it.

after an image was generated for each pdf the page would not load.

**pm2 is behind nginx and the nginx log says:

2024/02/29 16:00:50 [error] 25186#0: *3824 upstream sent too big header
while reading response header from upstream,
client: 142.104.201.218, server: dspace.library.uvic.ca, request: "GET
/items/b94e7193-a7dd-42ef-b551-5f31808291fb HTTP/1.1",
 upstream: "http://[::1]:4000/items/b94e7193-a7dd-42ef-b551-5f31808291fb";,
host: "dspace.library.uvic.ca"

when I removed all the generated images it worked again.

My question: Is there a best practice to limit the number of files in an
item?

Thanks,
Ben
