Re: [dspace-tech] How to view the XML DRI framework from the home page

2021-04-15 Thread Adan

Hi

You only need to add /DRI/ after xmlui

the home DRI is:
https://demo.dspace.org/xmlui/DRI/

and other's page DRI:
https://demo.dspace.org/xmlui/DRI/handle/10673/1

Regards
Adán

Hello guys, how are you?
I need to see the DRI structure that dspace builds on its home page.
Anybody know?

Example:

I have this item on the dspace
https://demo.dspace.org/xmlui/handle/10673/89

Sem título.png

To see the structure of the xml DRI just add? XML in the url, it looks
like this:

https://demo.dspace.org/xmlui/handle/10673/89?XML
Capturar.PNG

but when I try to see the XML from the main page of the dspace I
can't. Does anyone know how to see?

Re: [dspace-tech] Cannot expunge items in DSpace 5.8

2019-04-30 Thread Adan

We have similar problem eventualy

Items (and related data) should be removed from database usin sql queries.

regards
Adán

Dear list,

I have discovered some items in my repository that are in some weird
state. They don't have handles, don't appear in any collections, are
NOT in the archive, and I can't delete them. I've tried to
"permanently delete" them via the XMLUI admin interface as well as
"expunge" them by CSV metadata upload action, but they are still present.

Has anyone run into this issue before? Aside from the fact that these
items are in some weird limbo state, they are actually causing the
REST API's /items/find-by-metadata-value endpoint to throw an
exception because the anonymous user doesn't have permission to read
some of these items that are returned as having a metadata match (see
my message last week on this list regarding that).

Re: [dspace-tech] Run handle server in a separate machine (DSpace 4.7)?

It can be done easily.

Hi there.

Our DSpace 4.7 server runs inside a private cloud, thus handle.net
cannot ping the server.

Is there a way to run only DSpace's handle server in a different
machine from that one running the rest of DSpace itself?

Re: [dspace-tech] Request Document Copy Large Files – DSpace 6 XMLUI

2018-09-24 Thread Adan Roman Ruiz
We solved using other method. Although it needs changes in the source code.
First we alter the request-copy to send links with a generated token (very
long), instead of the file. We store into the database the token, related
file, date and uses.
Then we added a point of access to dspace similar to /bitstream called
/itemRequestFileDownload. This access point checks that the token exists,
and returns the related file ignoring permissions.
In addition you can record the number of uses, or use the time passed from
its generated, to make expire the link.

Best luck

Re: [dspace-tech] DSpace 5.9 Java version

2018-08-08 Thread Adan

Hi

You are using java 8 with maven, it download Postgres driver for java 8,
and then deploy it in a tomcat 7.

You must use the same java version.
Or you can force the postgres driver version in the root pom.xml.
A clean package is mandatory to delete the bad downloaded driver

regards
Adán

Hi,

I am upgrading from DSpace 5.6 Mirage2 to 5.9 Mirage2 in our test
environment (from dspace-5.9-src-release.tar.gz). The following steps
appear to be successful.

  $ mvn package -Dmirage2.on=true
  $ ant update

However, the following step throws an exception.

$ cd [dspace]
$ bin/dspace version
DSpace version:  5.9
  SCM revision:  ${buildNumber}
    SCM branch:  UNKNOWN_BRANCH
    OS:  Linux(amd64) version 2.6.32-754.el6.x86_64
Exception: org/postgresql/Driver : Unsupported major.minor version 52.0
java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: org/postgresql/Driver :
Unsupported major.minor version 52.0

    at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass1(Native Method)
    at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass(ClassLoader.java:808)
    at
java.security.SecureClassLoader.defineClass(SecureClassLoader.java:142)

    ...

I get the same exception for other dspace commands. Eg.
  $ bin/dspace database test

My understanding is that this implies the new DSpace 5.9 PostgreSQL
JDBC driver requires Java 1.8 (as it was compiled with Java 1.8)
whereas the doco for DSpace 5.9 recommends using Java 1.7. Assuming
this is so, I guess I should change to Java 1.8. Can I use any version
of Oracle JDK or OpenJDK 1.8 with DSpace 5.x/5.9 or are some versions
unsuitable? I haven't attempted to start tomcat 7 yet.

My environment is:
- RHEL 6.10; 2.6.32-754.el6.x86_64 #1 SMP
- java/javac OpenJDK 1.7.0_191
- Apache Maven 3.0.5
- Apache Ant(TM) version 1.8.4
- Apache Tomcat/7.0.65
- postgres/psql (PostgreSQL) 9.2.23 [on a remote RHEL 7.5 server]

Thank you in advance.
Cheers, Grant

Re: [dspace-tech] Rebuilding Solr Statistics from Source

2017-11-22 Thread Adan

Hi Hayden

try to repair and optimice the solr index using luke
(https://github.com/DmitryKey/luke/releases) and then try to use it with
DSpace

Regards

Adán
We have inherited a DSpace instance with a corrupt Solr index. We have
rebuilt the Solr Search and OAI. How is the Solr statistics rebuilt?

I notice there are a number of tools,

 - solr-export-statistics: Export usage statistics data from Solr for
back-up purposes
 - solr-import-statistics: Import usage statistics data (as previously
exported using solr-export-statistics) into Solr
 - solr-reindex-statistics: Reindex the Solr-based usage statistics,
for example after an upgrade that changes the schema

 - stat-general: Compile the general statistics
 - stat-initial: Compile the initial statistics
 - stat-monthly: Compile the monthly statistics
 - stat-report-general: Create the general statistics report
 - stat-report-initial: Create the initial statistics report
 - stat-report-monthly: Create the monthly statistics report
 - stats-log-converter: Convert dspace.log files ready for import into
solr statistics
 - stats-log-importer: Import previously converted log files into solr
statistics
 - stats-log-importer-elasticsearch: Import solr-format converted log
files into Elastic Search statistics

but none of them appear to work in regards to rebuilding the
statistics. There are no exports I am aware of.

Where in the db are the source statistics stored?

Thanks

Re: [dspace-tech] Search not displaying any result

2017-03-16 Thread Adan

Hi

Try adding uriencodig to your tomcat's connector. Check server.xml,
connector should be like:
 redirectPort="8443" URIEncoding="UTF-8"/>

Hi there!
I think our repo installation as a configuration problem:
If you go
here: https://globalcampus.eiuc.org/search-filter?filtertype_0=title_0=_relational_operator_0=contains=author

And click on Alamillos Sánchez, Rocío (2), you will not get any
result, moreover the filter will tell you that is searching
for: Alamillos SaÌ nchez, RociÌ o

Did you know what I'm missing?

Re: [dspace-tech] Select Collection step performance very slow in DSpace 6.x

2016-12-02 Thread Adan

Joan,

are you using oracle? there is some index issues in dspace 6.0

regards
Adán Román Ruiz
ARVO Consultores

We are experiencing the something similar but in all our repository
(except the home page), almost all pages in DSpace 6x takes between 6s
to 60seconds, we have tried to increase the memory of the tomcat,
changed the SO (Centos7 to Ubuntu), upgrading tomcat (8.0.5 to 8.5),
giving more cpus, changing data to ssd hard drive... all without a
signigicant improvements of performance.

Our configs are:

Vcpus : 8 (GenuineIntel 2099.998MHz)

Tomcat (8.5.8) config: -Xmx4072M -Xms512M -XX:PermSize=256M
-XX:MaxPermSize=512m

Items: arroung 120k

Now we have in production DSpace 3_x and this situation is preventing
us from upgrading also.

Bests

Joan

El 01/12/16 a les 22:15, wltant...@gmail.com ha escrit:
In DSpace 6x, it takes an intolerable 10 minutes (!!!) to populate
the Select Collection drop-down in my instance when logging in as a
regular user as opposed to an administrator.

I can add hardware details if anybody is interested, but I'm pretty
sure it's not the problem -- this is a beefy machine that hummed
along nicely with version 5.x...

We have a little over 1000 collections in our repository, and we use
shibboleth for authentication so findAuthorizedPerformanceOptimize is
set to it's default of false.

Some rudimentary profiling suggests that the isAdmin() call in
authorize() is the bottleneck. In a recent test (pretty typical),
the findAuthorized() function takes 704,040 ms to return. The time
spent in the isAdmin() call amounts to 590,691 ms, or about 83% of
the time. Another bottleneck within this bottleneck is the recursive
call to isAdmin(parent collection) -- about 400,000 ms. Clearly
there is a lot of waste in this call because many many collections
will be tested over and over. In our case, we have a single
community that is the ancestor of every community/collection, and
isAdmin() winds up being called against it 1012 times -- same as the
number of collections in the repository -- and 1011 of them are
redundant.

As a further test, I have short-circuited isAdmin() to return false
immediately. The results in the rendering of the drop-down in about
94,000 msec. Still way too long, but a drastic improvement.

When logging in as an administrator, isAdmin() returns rather quickly
and the list is populated much quicker as well. But for the everyday
user, the performance is a big red light preventing us from upgrading.

Sorry, this is simply stating the problem with no solution. But has
anybody else with a similarly sized repository experienced this slow
down?

Regards,
Bill

Fwd: Re: [dspace-tech] 8080 port number in url

2016-07-06 Thread Adan

Hi

Are you changing the dspace.cfg from the instalation directory?
This change should be done at source code dspace.cfg. Then a "maven" and
"ant" must be done to redeploy the changes.

Greetings,

We have been trying for two days to track down a solution to a problem
with no luck. We are trying to change the url being output from
DSpace. Specifically we want to erase the 8080 port number from the
url. We are running 3x on a server running Ubuntu 12.04. I tracked
down the instance in DSpace.cfg but the 8080 port is still showing up
in our url. Can anyone tell me where the treasures are hidden so I can
fix this for good? Thanks for your help.
