Hi,
Whenever you see odd behavior in DSpace 7 or 8 in the User Interface, you
should always use the Troubleshooting Guide to look for possible errors
behind the scenes.

Usually, when the User Interface is acting oddly, there will be an error
that appears in your browser's DevTools Console *or* in the backend logs.
The Troubleshooting guide will help you locate that error message. If this
is a recent installation, it's possible the error you will find is one of
the Common Installation Issues listed at:
