I'll just send this out again. If there is anyone who can give me some
hints in the right directions, I would be most appreciative.

Thanks

Subject: [Dspace-tech] Navigation sidebar in 1.5.1

Hi,

On our instance I have been trying to rearrange the order of the
navigation sidebar. I've been able to locate the Navigation.java in the
various aspects to be able to move around the links under the
administrative or account heading, but I cannot figure out how to move
the headings themselves. I am trying to move the Account heading, and
all it options, above the Browse heading. Does anyone have any idea
which source file, or sitemap file this would be located in?

Thanks

Jennifer Whalan

[Dspace-tech] Adding description to a file through bulk upload

2009-03-23 Thread Surinder Kumar Gaba
We are uploading data through bulk load programme to DSpace. We would
like to add description to each file. For example iqrs.pdf image pdf,
pqrs.pdf text pdf. In a single record submission, Dspace respond with
file description. How Can I achieve this with bulk load programme.

Re: [Dspace-tech] Changes to Messages.properties not being recognized

2009-03-23 Thread Gary Browne
Hi Eric,

Looks like noone has replied to you AFAICS. Let's see how we go...

I don't copy the war files, just point tomcat to the
[dspace-install-directory]/webapps/jspui directory (in server.xml), so
not sure if this will work with your setup.

So it looks like you have the Messages.properties file in the right
location (I think, from memory) in the source directory. Then you need
to run from the [dspace-source]/dspace directory:

mvn clean package

Then change to your dspace-1.5.1-build.dir directory (cd
target/dspace-1.5.1-build.dir) and run:

ant init_configs (or maybe 'ant update', if that doesn't work - sorry,
just back from 3 months off and a bit rusty).

How can you check if it has worked? Check the
[dspace-install-directory]/webapps/jspui/WEB-INF/classes/ directory for
your (updated) Messages.properties file. It should be copied here. Then
of course, check your button.

Hope this is of help in some small way.

Kind regards
Gary

Re: [Dspace-tech] DSpace 1.5.1 delete breaks browse index...

2009-03-23 Thread Bill Kelm
Claudia,

We were able to track it down to track it down to having some older
dspace-api libraries in /dspace/lib/xmlui. Our original installation
copy left dspace-api.1.5.0 and dspace-api.1.5.1 jars in the lib
directory; we removed the 1.5.0 jar from /dspace/lib, but had not
removed the copy from the xmlui directories.

Thanks,

the 1.4.2 version of the the patch has been deleted from SF and is not

do you got the old version for 1.4.2?

Hope that helps

Re: [Dspace-tech] LNI Webservice & workflow

2009-03-23 Thread Kasthuri, Sriram
Hello All,

I recently applied the workflow and the embargo patch to our dspace instance
(1.4 version) and able to test the functionalities when I use the standard
input forms supported by DSapce to upload an item.

But I face some issues when I try to publish an item from another dsapce
instance (say A) to the dsapce instance (say B) where the workflow is
configured via LNI webservice.

If I remove the workflow configuration from the collection (in dspace B), I'm
able to publish an item using the LNI webservice (from dsapce A). I can see the
LNI Publish classes dosen't associate the worflow related classes to trigger
the workflow configuration.

Can anyone advice me if there are any patches to be applied to make the LNI
webservice to trigger the workflow configuration (or) I need to configure
another dsapce instance to implement the workflow?

Any help on this is highly appreciated!

Thanks,
Sri

[Dspace-tech] Reminder 1.5.2 Testhaton Day

2009-03-23 Thread Andrea Bollini
Hi all,
just a reminder:
the 25 March will be the testhaton day for the 1.5.2 release, get involved!

A wiki page for the event is in place
http://wiki.dspace.org/index.php/Testhaton_1_5_2
feel free to add your test instances and any notes (use cases or missed
features to be tested).
We will do our best to perform as many tests as possible but our
resources are limited so your help is needed too!

Most of the work scheduled for this release has been completed
http://jira.dspace.org/jira/browse/DS/fixforversion/10012
however some issues are still in progress so additional SVN commits may
occur today.

Best regards,
Andrea

Hi Andrea,

Actually it seems that there was no accept/reject/edit metadata steps
defined for the collections.

Thanks,

Re: [Dspace-tech] DSpace 1.4x and postgresql 8.3

2009-03-23 Thread Allen Lam
Hi,

There are two facts for you to consider:

1. Debain is a fully configurable system such that you can
uninstall/disable almost any packages, and install/enable any extra
packages.

2. Upgrading dspace involves much more complicated procedures and risks
than reinstalling postgres.

I would suggest doing the dspace upgrade if it happens that you want
such an upgrade right at this moment.

Otherwise, do the postgres downgrade for a simple, fast and secure
solution. You can go for a dspace upgrade in a later time when you are
ready for it.

Allen Lam.

Re: [Dspace-tech] Importer --workflow switch not working?

2009-03-23 Thread Andrea Bollini
Hi Mika,
which is the actual composition of the wf group?
Now, if we have empty wf group (see
http://jira.dspace.org/jira/browse/DS-90 ) the wf step is skipped.

[Dspace-tech] Importer --workflow switch not working?

2009-03-23 Thread mikan.d.dspace listmail
I have used DSpace importer with --workflow switch to batch import
items into my workflow. Recently importer has started to ignore this
switch and adding all the data directly to the archive, without
workflow step. I just tried running it twice and both times the switch
was ignored. Im wondering if something has changed in importer code or
what might be the problem here? Im using DSpace 1_5_x branch from SVN.

Any hints are welcome,
Mika

Re: [Dspace-tech] DSpace 1.5.1 delete breaks browse index...

2009-03-23 Thread Claudia Jürgen
Hi Bill,

I was not able to reproduce this on a vanilla 1.5.1 instance.
Could you provide the detailed error logs? Do you got something like
"org.dspace.browse.BrowseException: org.postgresql.util.PSQLException:
ERROR: relation with OID n does not exist ?

Are you using Postgres < 8.3?
