[Dspace-tech] Dspace - 4.2 - jspui of windows - internal system error message
We are using Dspace ver 3.1 (Windows version) in windows server - 2003 os, using jsput - as given in file DS-LPSC-FP.pdf . This is in operational server mode. As we want to introduce, DISCOVERY concept, We tried to download the Version 4.1. But build failure message has come as given in files (2 - parts) dspace-build-failure - 1 2. Now, when we download and install the Version 4.2 (windows - version) - After installation, the jspui page is giving as Internal system error as given in file DS-42-JSPUI-PAGE.JPG. Here we could not sign as Administrator. But the XMLUI is working properly as given in DS-42-XMULI-PAGE.JPG As we have already done some customization in our operational server in jspui of windows version, we prefer the same in version 4.2 also. Can any one tried to install in (OS-Win) jspui. of Version 4.2. Is it is a bug in the Version 4.2 jspui of OS-Win. ? or is it a local problem for me only ? if so, either developer or any one can point out the bug in this. [Dspace-tech] Implementation of Discovery - in Dspace 3.1
We are using Dspace ver 3.1 (jspui), for our resource and made so many jspui customizations. At present, when we start to add the discovery module, through editing dspace.cfg and discovery.cfg, but it is not loading the discovery part of it. We think, we are having a small mistake in cfg files, which we could't identify. We would like to add new browse index (as per Report Number Entity) as given in *homepage-m.jpg*. (file attached). For this we have made modifications in (1. dspace.cfg, 2. Messages.properties, 3.input-forms-xml) as given in (1. Dspace-browse.cfg – 2. Messages-browse.properties, 3. Input-forms-browse.xml) (The modified portions in red colour is given in doc files) But we have had Internal System Error as given in *homepage-1-m.jpg.* Can any one help us by going through these files, where we are doing mistake and correct us by sending back the files after corrections ? by indicating the corrections in different colour fonts Please tell us also any other modifications is necessary in any other files to get the result. Dear Mr. Bhavesh, In LPSC / ISRO I am using the Metadata prepared in excel and saved as csv file. The csv file is exported to Dspace. Similarly, from Dspace, the metadata is exported in csv file and opened in Excel for our manipulation. The manipulated excel file is then saved as csv file, then exported to Dspace. I am using Dspace 3.1 version for this. Dspace 3.1 is having the UI, for csv export and import facility. But the link http://hzi.openrepository.com/hzi/browse?type=title# is not having the facility to save as CSV file format. I am using the excel - dspace - excel regularly, since all our typists are doing the metadata in excel, I am exporting these metadata by a single command to export more than 1000 records in a single command after verifying the data. So I am getting title in the field name, in the column title as “Title” But, what are all the field I have added afterwards, viz., dc.relation.ispartofseries for “Report no.” in the display the field name is coming as ???itemlist.dc.relation.ispartofseries.???. But I want in the field name in the display is Report no. - - - - - But for getting Item display, (webui.itemdisplay.default), I got help from dspace-users – tech and I have made corresponding editing in Message.properties (which file I have extracted from the File “Dspace\webapps\jspui\WEB-INF\lib\dspace-api.3.1.jar) and copied edited Message.properties file (copy attached) into classes directory. for “webui.itemdisplay.default” metadata.dc.relation.ispartofseries = Report no. Can any dspace-tech members help me in the above task in “webui.itemlist.columns” If I have to do the editing in any of the open file or any file has to be extracted for editing. I am using Dspace 3.1 version – windows 2003 server os- with tomcat servlet I would like to edit some metadata - data value to be displayed with new “display string” with the data. For that I have extracted the file ‘Messages.properties’ from dspace/webapps/jspui/WEB-INF/lib/dspace-api-3.1.jar - as given in TechnicalFAQ of Duraspace wiki. I have made the corresponding changes in 'Message.properties' Afterwards I copied that file in WEB-INF / classes Then I copied the WEB-INF / jspui into Tomcat-Web-inf But it is not working Can you please send me the procedure for making changes in metadata-display string and editing of Messages.properties file and its procedures Thanks in advance Regards C. I have done batch import of excel meta data to dspace in version 3.1 (windows xp / windows 2003 server). as it is having a GUI for it in both jsput and xmlui.
