[Dspace-tech] Anonymous group in Dsapce deleted by mistake

Problem is almost solved only upload file error is coming when i m trying to
submit to the collection and uploading the files.

you can use the Advanced Policy Manager feature.
Go in the admin menu > Authorization > Advanced /Item Wildcard ...
Chose any collections one for time, content-type: one time item next
time bitstream,  group Anonymous Action Read and click on add policy.
In this way all items in your repository will be made public with the
attached fulltext.

Can you tell me what error you are getting while Uploading the file from the
log file under

${dspace}/log/dspace.log

or

${CATALINA_HOME}/logs/localhost--MM-DD.log

Hello Mr Indu Bhushan

I think you might assign the default permissions to the Anonymous groups.

As per your problem, I think you need the add read permissions on the items
to the users of anonymous group.

As each eperson in the DSpace is; by default, member of Anonymous group,
this must work.

As per your advice i tried to update Anonymous group id from following
command. Now should i creat Anonymous group from Dspace ADMIN GROUP menu
[create new group]  and add the this in every community from Community's
Authorizations:

 Hello Mr Indu Bhushan

I you have to create the "Anonymous" group through SQL, creating this group
with admin panel will not help you as this is a special group and inbuilt in
DSpace.

The name of the group does not matters, DSpace requires its ID.

Anonymous  group in Dsapce deleted by mistake. Now it is asking user name
password when we click on titles. Logos of Commuties and Collections are
also not shown.

Only admin can view the files and upload file error is showing when
submitting to collection. Also i do`t have latest backup. I also tried to
create anonymous group using admin id but it is not working.

Hi,
the anonymous group (as the administrator group) has a special role in
DSpace.
The ID of the group is hardcoded in some places so you need to restore
the expected ID.
Run a sql update on your db and set to 0 the anonymous group id (table
epersongroup, column eperson_group_id)

update epersongroup set eperson_group_id = 0 where "name" like 'Anonymous'
