Re: [DX-CHAT] ER4DX

2002-09-11 Thread KIR

On 6 Sept I posted my comments regarding the problems of receiving QSL cards
from ER land. This was after a rather lengthy thread on this subject. I
stated that I had worked 5 ER stations and never received a card. I even
identified who they were. Since then I received two cards within the past
two days and I feel compelled to set the record straight. So I'm posting
this to let everyone know that I received a card from ER1QQ via the bureau
for a QSO on 11 Sep 01, and also one direct from ER7HQ for a QSO on 14 July
02. I cannot determine if the ER1QQ card was in response to receiving my
card or not, but the ER7HQ definitely was. I don't know if this information
sheds any light on this matter, but there is a lesson in it for me.

The moral of the story is that we all must be a little patient, even if
it is for that last one that gives us DXCC, Honor Roll, WAZ, or
whatever. :-)

Re: [DX-CHAT] ER4DX

2002-09-06 Thread Ron Notarius WN3VAW

I'd suggest contacting Joe W3HNK. He seems to have an almost-magical
pipeline in out of Russia for QSL'ing stations when direct fails due to,
shall we say, intercepts.

I don't know if he could help out with the Moldovian stations, so I'd
suggest dropping an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] first. Can't hurt to ask...

When asked If you had been in President Clinton's place, would you have
resigned?,
Republican Member of the House of Representatives Dick Armey replied:

If I were in the President's place, I would not have gotten a chance to
resign. I would be laying in a pool of my own blood, hearing Mrs. Armey
standing over me saying, How do I reload this damn thing?

I'm with Jay on this one. There are a few ER stations that have managers,
most in EU. However, the stations with EU managers don't frequent the
bands as much as the direct ER stations.

I've worked several ER stations with ER addresses and former Soviet state
managers. Getting mail in and out of that area (in my experience) is
almost as good as flushing your dollars. I suppose there are exceptions,
but I haven't managed to be one. ;-(

That is an old mailing address. Per Prolog2k, his new address is:

 VASILY WILLY ROMANYUK

Prolog2k suggests using registered mail but also indicates many people
reporting they are not getting any QSL's from him. Prolog2k still lists his
QSL manager as UT7ND.

Looked up the card and it was for a NOV99 contact . Operater was Willy.
email address for ER4DX is: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (was in 1999)
   ER4DX direct address is:
   P O Box 3351, MD-2044, Chisinau, Moldova, Europe.
   Hope this helps.

I got my card from manager: UT7ND direct.

2002-09-06 Thread Dennis Eremin

Griping here won't change that. While I heartily agree that any and/or all
of these stations could use a sure manager to help us out, if they are so
inclined to do so, you need to suggest that to them directly. Meantime, I'd
suggest sending cards via the bureau, and note on them that this is a 2nd or
3rd request as the others went direct. (That's assuming that there is a
working bureau in ER right now, something I don't know)

Your right Ron. ER-bureau works well, at least I've receieved the following cards
through it for the past three months:

ER1DX
ER1FF
ER1LW
ER1MW
ER4DX
ER5GB
ER6A
