[DX-NEWS] TR8XX
Since TR8XX passed away, I wonder if anyone knows if his qsl chores will be picked up by someone else? I tried several times to get his qsl was never successful. Worked this station yesterday on 10 meters. As we were talking about the casino at Monte Carlo, someone kept shouting that we were working a pirate! Was 3a2dx ( a new one for me on 10) legit? The operator sounded German. Hi Bill, Likewise, I was unsuccessful in getting QSLs from F8XX. Yes that is correct 3A2DX is a Pirate station! The authorities in Monaco have confirmed this information. On top of that he gives F6TZ as his QSL manager. There are now F6 stations with two letter suffixes. I am surprised no one in Europe has tracked this fellow down. He is very uninformed! 73 Bernie, W3UR Larry L. I would like to thank those of you who sent me replies with regard to my 1979 contact with 1S1DX (which included an actual Op from that operation). The QTH was of course Spratly. It appears logs are perhaps available and I now have info as to a possible QSL route which looks very promising. For example, if you recently installed a proxy server, you would have to setup DXTelnet for this, otherwise no site could be connected. Try this: launch a connection to the CQDX-IRC node. Does it connect? If it does, then it is probable that some of the sites you are trying to reach have changed their IP address since when the latest DXtelnet version was issued. If this is the case, please send me a list of the clusters you're specially interested in and I'll return a list of their updated ips. Or if you have a little patience, you can wait for the next DXTelnet version (coming soon) which will have lots of new clusters and IP corrections.
