http://www.trindade2002.com says they were planning to leave the
island at 1200z on 3 March, however I made a contest QSO at 2151z
 on 10 meters.

Were they delayed in leaving or did Slim jump into the fray?

 Bob, N7XY

N6FF told me they had taken down most of the antennas by the
weekend and then had a delay in departure which allowed them
to participate in the ARRL SSB DX contest on at least 4 bands.

Re: [DX-NEWS] Ukraine/East European QSL's (discussion)

2002-03-06 Thread Wolfgang Wessely

Hi!

My experience with direct-QSLs to East Europe is,
that many letters with included IRC's or $ were stolen. Seems, too many people
on the route need the money...Why we dont't use our bureaus? Many of the
needed cards came back via bureau, e.g. UN3G, UN7QX, UT5JDS / JAJ, UT3LA, EM5U,
UT0AZA, also VK4ABW,JH, FNQ, ZS6'ers, S92DX, Z21FO or PY's (all
6m).BTW, within the last months I got beautiful bureau(!)-cardsfor
HF-contacts from VP6BR, CE0Y (via UA6AF), 4S7TWG, FT5ZJ, 8J1RL, KH0/JA1DD, V26K,
3C1AG, E4/G3WQU, YK9A, ZD7VJ, J3A, HC8N, H40AA, H44DX, 9G5VJ, a.s.o. - mostly
rare calls. You know most of them. I think, within the last years many of us
forgot that we have excellent working QSL-bureaus/-manager in most parts of the
world. Save Your money!73 GL with QSLing, Wolfgang - DJ3TFhttp://www.qrz.com/callsign/dj3tfOf
course, if somebody needs the card for his next DXCC-entry, he have no time to
wait... Ken WA8JOC wrote: I
have several 6 meter QSL's for various QSO's. Has anyone had
better luck direct versus buro handling?? It's been a
while since I was looking for a card from that part of the
world.

[DX-NEWS] DXCC Honor Roll submission

2002-03-06 Thread Steven Wheatley KU9C

March 31 is coming, and I've had a few emails regarding a needed card for the honor
roll submission.

At the risk of creating a bunch of work, and as I type this I wonder if I'll regret
thisHI...I'll make the following offer

IF YOU NEED DESPERATELY one of the cards I manage for the honor rollI'm thinking
YA5T and PW0T specifically, but I suppose there could be othersI'd like to help
you out. But, please honor this by only requesting if this really is important to
younot just another way of getting a card fast.

As the PW0T card won't be ready, I'll generate a 'dummy card' on something better than
toilet paper. I have YA5T cards. I'm attempting to get the most current logs from
YA5T, and I expect we'll have complete PW0T logs later this week. So, here is the
deal.

EMAIL ME at [EMAIL PROTECTED] (please use that email address only, to help me find it and
sort things out) with:

Why you need the card. Make sure this is important to you, as you're going to create
a bit of churn for me!

your address

your QSO information

If the information is to me by the 15th, and I have the logs, I'll do my best to get
in the mail within a few days. Hopefully this will allow you to hit the deadline.

As I'm going to foot the bill for the stamp and envelope, PLEASE return that to me in
the next QSL request you send to me.

I hope this helps a few of you get one closer...
