[DXR] Afghanistan

2001-10-03 Thread Billy R. Gallier

Shouldn't YA be dropped from the DXCC list? Why would anyone encourage talking
to the enemy? How do you know who you are talking to?
Let's drop em!!

Seems that would be the exact opposite of the amateur radio code.. That we
speak to all legal hams regardless of their country's political viewpoint.

If we followed you suggestion.. 4X's would not talk to 9K's, W4's would
avoid CO's, 7X's would be skeptical of F's, G's would have an issue's with
EI's (not to mention GM's and G's).

Let's work all DX.

Hi Billy et al,

Of course not. Very soon there will be a lot of YA stations
CQing with occidental accent...

By the way I badly need YA on 80 & 40 meters.

Re: [DXR] Afghanistan

2001-10-03 Thread Barry

I agree that we, as hams, should keep politics out of it. If you hear
a YA on, just tune on by, if you don't like it.

As it is now, I believe most Arab countries will not talk to a 4X.
There was a comment in the write-up of the CQWW RTTY contest
last weekend that 4X/OK1EE called a CN8 and was ignored.

bill this is a very wrong way to view the matter. we have no complaints
with
the people of afganistan. only with the bunch of ruling thugs.
