[Dx-packages] [Bug 1096115] Re: Launcher gets confused about which icons relate to which applications

2013-11-10 Thread dah bien-hwa
For me this happens with self-created .desktop files in
~/.local/share/applications.

I have two files in there.

One was copied from the other, but both Name and and Icon in both are
different

When I now try to start the last created application, it shows the
correct icon, but the wrong application name. I have changed the file
gradually, so maybe the folder was indexed at a time when the Name was
wrong but the icon right (although I actually changed in the other order
as far as I remember, first Name and then Icon). Is there any way to
tell the Dash to re-scan the desktop files?

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1222602] Re: [regression] [gen3] Mesa 9.2 makes Unity unusable on Atom class hardware and 943/945 graphics controllers

2013-11-10 Thread Carl Johan
@Danny
My bug turned out to be a different one, but it manifested itself similar to
this bug. The problem came from having an external monitor connected via the
VGA port at startup. For some reason that caused compiz to respond very slowly.
I have solved the problem by connecting the monitor after booting into ubuntu.

Bug description:
Impact: sometime indicator-session or datetime go missing in unity

Test Case: start sessions until that happens (or not)

Regression potential: the change is a one liner workaround for a glib
lock, shouldn't create issue, just check that those indicators keep
  working as they should

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1245473] Re: Binding ctrl+shift, alt+shift, etc for switching keyboard layout makes shortcuts with ctrl+shift, etc not working in any program

2013-11-10 Thread kolen
Possibly caused by bug 1244090: when keys to change layout are pressed,
focus moves away from application to some system app, therefore app
cannot receive keypress events.

Tried only with ctrl+shift, maybe behaves the same for other modifier
key combinations when used as shortcut for switching layouts.

  - Set ctrl+shift as shortcut for switching keyboard layouts
  - Try to use ctrl+shift+v, ctrl+shift+c in Terminal -- it doesn't work
(actually Terminal window loses focus when ctrl+shift is pressed, and layout is
switched)
