[Dx-packages] [Bug 1255530] Re: system clock gets forcefully set to 12h (AM/PM) as soon as the panel clock starts

2013-11-28 Thread Oliver Grawert
obviously going to the settings app, switching my language setting back
and forth and rebooting fixes it. my clock is now properly staying at
24h time.

seemingly we now set more variables in /home/phablet/.pam_environment than we
did at the time i was firstly setting up the image.
during OTA upgrade the new settings were not updated inside this config file so
that parts of my settings flipped back to english.

to handle this case in the future (we might have other cases where pam
settings of a user need upgrading even on released images) the session-
migration tool should get a backend to handle this.

i am turning this into a wishlist bug against session-migration, the
indicator task is solved.

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1234458] Re: Indicator stuck on mouse icon, along with estimating...

2013-11-28 Thread Matthias Gehre
For me, it would suffice to see the battery state in the (collapsed) indicator.
(I.e. in the top row).
Currently the mouse is in the top row, showing nothing but (estimating...),
which does not help at all.

The mouse can stay in the power menu, (the menu that opens after clicking on
the indicator),
but please make the laptop battery the first row.

My power indicator is stuck on the mouse icon. When I click on it, it
  says Mouse (estimating).

Why is it stuck on estimating?
Why show the icon at all if I'm using a Logitech mouse with a battery?

  https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Power#time-presentation: The brief time-remaining
string for a component should be:
  * the time remaining for it to empty or fully charge, if estimable, in H:MM
format; otherwise
  * 'estimating…' if the time remaining has been inestimable for less than 30
seconds; otherwise
  * 'unknown' if the time remaining has been inestimable for between 30 seconds
and one minute; otherwise
  * the empty string.

  1) Log in
  2) Run a session for a day or two
  3) Open the calendar applet by clicking the clock. Although the date in the
text field is correct, the graphic calendar still shows the date at which you
either originally logged in, or clicked the calendar before.
  4) Hide it, and show it once more. The calendar now shows the correct date.

The conflicting visual data can be very confusing if you only summon
the calendar to find out what day it is. (I don't get much sunlight.)

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1255974] [NEW] 'e' character does not render properly (or at all)

2013-11-28 Thread Lorax
Public bug reported:

When searching for applications in Unity's Dash search box, the 'e'
character is never displayed. Strangly, all I see is a blank space. For
example, if I type abcdefg I actually see abcd fg. It's as if the
font is missing an 'e'.

This only seems to happen in the Dash's search box. Other applications
(e.g. Gedit, Firefox etc.) display the 'e' correctly although I have
noticed occasional screen corruption when rendering characters in some
cases.

Honestly, this is not a joke (see the attached screenshot).

itself, not session-migration but using session-migration.

however, there is another bug needed to hook session-migration into
upstart so that session-migration works

[Dx-packages] [Bug 1249663] Re: Trusty gnome flashback indicator-applet-complete disappeared completely. Nothing displays in the top right panel.

2013-11-28 Thread Khurshid Alam
I am using gnome-panel-3.8.0-1ubuntu1 in trusty. In gnome-flashback-
compiz session adding indicator-applet-appmenu crashes gnome-panel. (bug
#1222339).

In gnome-flashback-metacity session panel doesn't crash but application
menu itself is not visible (though if you click on blank area it
sometime works).

The pam package never modifies ~/.pam_environment, and never should. I
