[Dx4win] Adding Rig Freq to QSO

2004-03-25 Thread Pawel SP7PS
Hello Mel,

There is another way to import frequency info into DX4WIN's note field. Use
small software "WL2DX4WIN" and it converts ADIF file from WriteLog (and
probably other contest softwares) to DX4WIN with right frequency, state and
contest number informations. You can also add your own notes to all imported
QSOs. Try it, it is free at http://sp7ps.pl/sp7dqr

[Dx4win] Adding Rig Freq to QSO

2004-03-25 Thread Mel Martin
I'm not surprised you didn't find it... it's anything but obvious.

On the log scteen, under QSO --- Contest mode...

Add $$ to the note field. This will insert the frequency into the note field
whether the program is in Contest Mode or not.

This is not a really satisfactory solution, as it is not possible to
import/export this info in standard ADIF format... ie and ADIF import will
"lose" your frequency data...

Why Paul will not change this is beyond me... DX4Win seems to be out of step
with every other logging software...

It has been suggested by those more cynical than I that Paul doesn't want to
make switching log data too easy... (I have trouble believing this... )

Maybe in the next release...

Hi,
I've searched the entire user manual and am wondering if there is any way to
have the freq from the radio automatically put in each log entry?

Besides doing the "CTRL R" in the notes fields manually.

Sure would be a real nice addition - don't you think?

Oh yeah, running v6.02

Thanks,

It's not easy, but it's doable. I have done this several times to enter state
QSO party logs into Writelog using the ADIF format.

All you have to do is edit the ADIF file exported from DX4WIN, and
intelligently change the "Notes" field to a "Frequency" field and change the
KHz freq. to MHz. I have done this using a text editor with macro capability
(EMACS) and it only takes a few minutes.

[Dx4win] Re: Dx4win digest, #424 -Marking for QSLs

2004-03-25 Thread Steve Holton
As a new user this is one of the first things I wanted to do - I didn't use
a filter per se but did the following
Made a Reports -> DXCC -> Listing
For each country - mode - band you see in the report is marked as Worked,
Mailed qsl, Confirmed, Checked. Double clicking on the "W' for worked will
act as a filter and produce a report window with all the QSOs that match
and you can mark them for QSLs. When when done will all the
country/band/modes you want to process the labels be grouped sorted and
print in order etc and you can then have it mark those QSOs and the
country/band/modes as 'M'ailed. Just did that to send of about 200 cards to
the buro and a bunch to QSL managers.

Depending on the software used by your cluster node, there may be a myriad
of filtering options available there. This is particularly true of
AR-Cluster. Either way, you'll need to read the friendly manual, but you
should be able to get what you want.

You can also filter spots by CQ Zone on some systems - try setting incoming
spots only from Zone 5.

The info is available with the cluster help command...

However, here are the commands I use...

To pass K,VE spots only:
set/filter k,ve/pass

To pass HF spots only:
set/filter dxbm/reject vhf,uhf,mw

To turn it off:
Set/nofilter

Set them up as a function key macro...

I use na2na.net

[Dx4win] Local spotting?

2004-03-25 Thread Rick Graham
Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could direct me to a telenet site(s) that has
only spots that would be semi-local to my qth (Pennsylvania)? While
seeing spots of DX from people halfway across the world is nice, it
isn't practical for me personally.

Or is there a way that I can filter out those kinds of spots?

Sorry, this may be off topic for some.

Thanks for any input.
