[Dx4win] Talk Window in 7.02

2007-02-27 Thread John Desmond
Since I upgraded to 7.02 (some time ago) I have lost my talk window
and cannot find any info in the help file as to where to turn that
back on. Any clues out there?

Also, is it possible to filter to that you only see Talk one liners
addressed to yourself?

Thanks es 73, John K0TG

John,

look at http://dx4win.ad1c.us/appnotes/index.htm
scroll down and you see some tips to use the talk-window with your callsign.
While upgrading to 7.02 you forgot the ini file merging from your last
version.

Hi John,

There is no separate Talk window. Do you mean the Warning Messages window?

In File - Preferences - Packet1, change Warning Messages to List
in Window and save.

[Dx4win] Talk Window in 7.02

2007-02-27 Thread Wayne M
Jim,
There is a separate window that opens in DX4WIN when you receive a talk
message. I still have the window open in 7.0.2 but it was initialized
from an older version. I'm not sure how one would get to this now with
the choices in preferences as I looked for an option to check and
couldn't find one.

Hi Wayne,

I think we're talking about the same window. It's called, Talk messages and
announcements. Enable it thew way I describe below.

Yes Jim, I think that's the one. That should give John his Talk Window back.

Thanks for all the extra effort you do.

I'm mostly done updating the DX4WIN award database. My release notes can be
found here:

http://dx4win.ad1c.us/awards.htm

If there are any awards you want fixed/updated or ADDED (even better if you can
send me the award template), I'll include them, otherwise I'll release this
early next week.

[Dx4win] TS-850 control under 7.02

2007-02-27 Thread Kris Mraz
Sorry if this has already been covered. I've checked the
archives but didn't find any related posts.

I've recently upgraded from 5.03 to 7.02. I notice that the
VFO control for my TS-850 is different when clicking a spot
that is split.

Under 5.03 the DX frequency is set in VFO A and the QSX frequency
is set in VFO B but the VFOs aren't split (Ie both TX and RX
are set to VFO A). The I manually split the VFOs. [I've come to live with
that little quirk].

Under 7.02 the frequencies are set and the VFOs aren't
split, as before. The difference now is that VFO B is selected
for both TX and RX. Ie, the QSX frequency.

If a non-split spot is clicked the DX frequency is set into the
currently selected TX VFO (either A or B) and VFO A is selected.
That is, if I'm on VFO B and click a spot, its frequency goes into
VFO B and the radio switches to VFO A. So now I have to
manually select VFO B.

I hope all that is clear. So my question is: Is there a way to
change the default radio control behavior (eg, via an edittable control
file)
or is it set in code?

tnx,

Kris N5KM

Kris,

If you double click on the spot a second time, it will normally switch the
VFOs so that they are split correctly. Why it doesn't do this the first
time, I have no clue.
