[Dx4win] Rig files... more questions.
Walt, Notes can be added if you edit the rigfile in the database But if you don't know how to do it be carefull. The CW filter setting can be changed with a text editor Open your rigfile with textpad or similar program The number before FD is used for CW BUT this also changes the SSB-RTTY filter settings CW 1 = 1.2 Khz 2 = 500 hz 3 = 250 hz This is the command [RC-Set Mode] CSTR=060002FD Guy ON4AOI -Oorspronkelijk bericht- Van: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Namens K2WK Verzonden: Tuesday, January 22, 2008 7:50 PM Aan: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Onderwerp: [Dx4win] Rig files... more questions. Hey all, I was wondering what the meaning of some of the parameters are that make up the rig files, most specifically for the IC-756 Pro III. Some of them are quite self-explanatory, it's the others that puzzle me. Here's my brief list: 1) NOTES=Selects narrow filter for CW/SSB. How is this done, i.e. what command is sent to the rig and how does that work? Personally, I'd like the rig to go to the Wide CW Filter. How and where do I change this in the rig file or how do I send a CI-V command to accomplish same? 2) RMUL= 1.00E+ and WMUL= 1.00E+ What are these multipliers? 3) RITSCL= 1.00E+ Hmmm, what does this do? I have access to the CI-V command set, but have never tried sending commands to the radio, any suggestions? 73 de Walt - K2WK ___ Dx4win mailing list Dx4win@mailman.qth.net http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win
[Dx4win] How to Convert PSK
Hi, In my log found out that I have over 200 QSO's marked as PSK. Is there a fast easy way to convert them to PSK31? Guy, Thank you for the reply and the helpful information. It's unfortunate that one can't change the filter setting per mode. Keep up the good work on informing the community with your wisdom of DX4Win. I learned a lot from your posts. [Dx4win] Multiple MMTTY windows
Hi Garry, I usually rx the DX on the main VFO, while RX and TX on the sub VFO watching for where the DX is listening and adjusting accordingly. Transmitting from the Main version of MMTTY follows the transmit focus of the radio. So if the radio is set to transmit on Main, the 1st or main installation of MMTTY sends FSK from that VFO. If I choose to have the transmit focus on the SUB VFO,or split mode, the radio still uses the 1st or main MMTTY version to transmit FSK from the sub VFO. You need to make sure both VFOs are set to the same mode.Rx will only work on the corresponding VFO as the sound out is fixed by the radio. So the main MMTTY or 1st copy has Left channel sound card selected, and the 2nd copy of MMTTY has the right channel audio selected. The radio has to be in DUAL RX to get audio to both copies of MMTTY and both sides of the stereo sound channels. My main or 1st copy of MMTTY is installed in a folder of MMTTY. The 2nd copy of MMTTY is installed in a folder called MMTTY2. I have shortcuts to both exe files so labeled on my desktop so I can bring each version up individually or simultaneously as needed. Have fun with this. 73 Wayne WA1PMA Garry Shapiro wrote: Thanks. So transmitting from the main version will require, during split operation, reception of the DX station on the standalone version? For having two profiles on one frequency, it does not matter. I take it you install a second version, with a different name, from the download. Garry Wayne wrote: I have it working with a FT1K MK V. I generally run MMTTY as 2 stand alone programs, but just tried it with DX4WIN using it's interface to the main MMTTY program and brought up the second version of MMTTY in a stand alone configuration. Installing two separate copies of MMTTY seems to work fine under XP. The key is setting the main or original installed version of MMTTY to use the Left side of the sound card and the 2nd copy to use the right side. Transmit is always done as FSK from the main version of MMTTY which with the FT1K MK V can be on either VFO. Hope this helps, 73 Wayne WA1PMA Garry Shapiro wrote: Since my query re setting up a second MMTTY window, I have received no replies with the requested information. I must therefore presume that either it cannot be done, or no one with that knowledge read the message. I have been using MMTTY in one window, with a second RTTY window using a hardware modem, in this case a much-modified PK232MBX. I had simply combined the main and sub audio outputs at AF OUT and fed both the sound card and the PK232, providing two versions of whichever audio channel was selected. To separately monitor the main and sub channels necessitated selecting one VFO and deselecting the other. I have now removed the combiner and feed main audio to the sound card for MMTTY and the sub audio to the PK232, thus losing the second copy, but allowing monitoring of both frequencies simultaneously without having to press buttons. I would still be interested to know if it is possible to have a second MMTTY window.
