[Dx4win] Member List

2010-03-14 Thread Alan Walters
Carter,

Not on the air. The L is displayed in the band map after the call. For
example, K5NOF L in the band map spot indicates that station is a member of
LoTW. But MAS2 (or MAS1 for earlier versions) must be installed in the
Dx4win folder (not in save) and one must be connected to a spot node via the
internet.

My understanding of the way it works is, as calls are received from the
spotting network, each is compared with the various membership lists in the
Dx4win folder and the appropriate indicator (L for Lotw or E for EQSL) is
then displayed. Jim -- please add a better description if I don't have it
quite right.

[Dx4win] Members List

2010-03-14 Thread Alan Walters
Mel,

What you really want is for the QSO window to do the same lookup on current
membership lists as the Spot Window... that would definitely be handy...

Exactly, and then save the result with the other QSO information for
reference later.

Re: [Dx4win] Members List

2010-03-14 Thread Mel
No... you don't want to save it. You want current status, the program
redoes the lookup. For example, someone may not have been a LotW member
when you worked him but has since registered. This is the information
that is more useful. Likewise, it is conceivable with some lists that
someone might no longer be a member of a list... though that is not
possible with the LotW list because of the indirect way the data is
collected.

[Dx4win] Custom Award

2010-03-14 Thread Ron Polityka
Hello,

Wondering if someone can help me with my small problem.

I have written several Custom Awards into the program.
Very easy to do.

I wonder if there is a way that I can enter a letter into
the Custom Award Value block. I can do the numbers but
there are a few awards that have letters with their number.

Thanks in advance!!

[Dx4win] Updates to TrustedQSL

2010-03-14 Thread Rick Murphy
Since there's a number of Logbook of the World users that are also
DX4WIN users, I'd like to mention that I've been working on updates to
the LoTW software to fix some of the long standing user requests. The
updates include requiring proper ITU and CQ zones based on DXCC
entitity, corrections for US county names to match the ADIF standard,
fixing problems with certificate import and export, many new operating
modes, and a bunch of user interface fixes.

This isn't official ARRL software, but if you're willing to give it a
try, I have a webpage at http://www.rickmurphy.net/lotw/ with pointers
to my builds of the TrustedQSL software.
Please give it a try and send me any feedback.
