[Dx4win] long lines in message
I just read a recent posting of mine in the archives dated today. It goes across the page and you have to use the "horizontal elevator button" to go to the right to view all of it. What am I doing wrong so I can correct it so it appears condensed like the other messages from other people? I am using windows live mail. [Dx4win] external data
I am trying to get additional info into the entry window by using my paid for Buckmaster Hamcall data. I download my Buckmaster Hamcall disk to my C: drive. I then put "C:\" in the EXT DATA preference in the top two spaces: Buckmaster CDRom and c:\. I expect to put this data on individual hams into the entry window. I put in a new call into the entry window and use the space bar. I then use F3 to access external data. Up comes a separate window called CALLSIGN/ MGR LOOKUP. It has the name, address, grid, etc. on the ham whose call I put into the entry window. There is a button at the bottom of this Callsign/Mgr Lookup window called UPDATE QSO. I press it and nothing happens, I.e., the entry window is not populated with the information. What am I doing wrong? I read the entire manual (page 29-30) and cannot find what I do. Any help would be appreciated. 73 Steve Sala K7AWB DN17es Nine Mile Falls, WA 425 grids confirmed-6 meters __ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

If there are two managers listed for the same call on the same starting date, the one that is alphabetically FIRST is the one that will show up your logbook. For example, if you logged TZ6ZZ and entered the manager as AD1C, then corrected it to KK4HD, AD1C will still show up. To delete the bad manager, go to the main DX4WIN menu, and then File | Databases | QSL Managers. Find the DX station's call, select the one with the bad manager (it will turn blue), the control-delete (the Delete that's in the same area as Insert, Home, etc.). Then File | Save and Exit. 73 - Jim AD1C -- Jim Reisert AD1C, , http://www.ad1c.us __ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Dx4win] interesting, can't change QSL manager
This process may be different depending on what you have set for Preferences/Personal/User Level. I have mine set to Advanced - I dont have to close my log to follow Paul's procedure and I can edit the QSL Manager directly in the QSL Manager's window. As he says, it updates automatically in the log. 73, Bud N7CW -Original Message- From: dx4win-boun...@mailman.qth.net [mailto:dx4win-boun...@mailman.qth.net] On Behalf Of F6EXV Paul Sent: Sunday, January 09, 2011 4:08 PM To: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Subject: Re: [Dx4win] interesting, can't change QSL manager Hi George You have to close your log, go to Files/Database/QSL managers. Re: [Dx4win] interesting, can't change QSL manager
Hi George You have to close your log, go to Files/Database/QSL managers. There you delete your wrong entry. Save changes, open your log again, select the QSO and now you can enter the right manager. The manager database will be updated properly. 73 Paul F6EXV Le 09/01/2011 22:17, george a écrit : > When I worked CE9PA3EXX an hour ago and mis-typed the QSL manager and > entered it into my log I tried to go back and correct my mis-typed QSL > manager for this contact and I can't? [Dx4win] interesting, can't change QSL manager
When I worked CE9PA3EXX an hour ago and mis-typed the QSL manager and entered it into my log I tried to go back and correct my mis-typed QSL manager for this contact and I can't? No matter what call I put into the QSL manager now it always reverts back to my mis-typed QSL manager. How do I correct this? Thanks. Re: [Dx4win] Importing ADIF With Dupes Crashes DX4WIN
You don't say which version of DX4WIN. Remember, when importing, there are a few different options as to what to do with dupes, i.e. ignore them or import the dupe. Which selection are you using? I suggest you send the ADIF To Paul so he can try to replicate the problem. 73 - Jim AD1C On 1/8/2011 11:45 PM, Art - W6KY wrote: > > > This has bean a pain for a long time, but worked > several dupes in todays NAQP... > > NAQP Contest, (any contest) > > Easier to work a dupe and continue... > Recommended in most contests... > > But, when importing to DX4WIN, each dupe crashes DX4WIN. > Will import up to the 1st dupe in a file, stops and fills the > screen with error messages. [Dx4win] Set Name and QTH
Hi Just upgrading from 703 to 804v8. I see from the archives OH6CT Olli has asked this same question but I cant see any answer. The bulk of my QSOs in version 703 have the Name and QTH in the "Notes for this Call" window, separated by a space. The question is how do I get DX4Win to recognise a space to populate the name to the new name window and the QTH to the new QTH window using the "Multiple QSO Operation|Set Name and QTH"? Jim's application notes refer to the on-line help to see exactly what Dx4Win will do but I can't find them. I'm sure the answer is staring at me!
