[Dx4win] Weird behavior on frequency logging
Please respond to the reflector and/or Mark. Mark Lunday mlun...@nc.rr.com _ From: Mark Lunday [mailto:mlun...@nc.rr.com] Sent: Friday, March 25, 2011 9:04 PM To: 'dx4win@mailman.qth.net' Subject: Weird behavior on frequency logging Using Flex 3000 SDR radio, DX4WIN 8.03 I noticed that some of the QSO’s in my log have the correct band but the wrong band in the recorded frequency. For example, I had a QSO yesterday with UN9GD on 20 meter CW. The band was correctly recorded as 20 meters, but the frequency in the DX4WIN log shows 18070.20. Could this be due to the fact that DX4WIN is polling the Flex radio and is reading both VFO’s (even though the second one was inactive at the time?) If yes, how do I prevent this behavior so that only the receiving frequency is recorded (the frequency of the DX station). [Dx4win] Compare DX4WIN to LoTW version 4.1 - 3 April 2011
I have updated the utility to compare your DX4WIN DXCC credits with ARRL Logbook of the World: You can download version 4.1 from: http://dx4win.ad1c.us/lotw/ This version fixes a small change that ARRL made on the LoTW web site. Please let me know if you have any problems. 73 - Jim AD1C -- Jim Reisert AD1C, jjreis...@alum.mit.edu, http://www.ad1c.us __ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Dx4win] April 1, Country File Release
John you are probably running the latest UPDATE.BAT but don't have UNZIP installed. Go back to the web page and read the installation instructions again. There are TWO additional programs you need to update using the latest version. I intend to improve UPDATE by checking for these two programs before it does anything, I just have not had time yet. Also something else was going on because even if I just put the old cty file back in the save folder, DX4WIN would not load. I had to do a system restore to before my first 4/1 attempt. Finally I just went into File/ Databases and did a merge of my old cty with the new cty. I also just swapped out the adif.pmp files and all, appears to be working FB, with country records and data as it should be. 73, John N4ZX -- Jim Reisert AD1C, jjreis...@alum.mit.edu, http://www.ad1c.us __ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Dx4win] Compare DX4WIN to LoTW version 4.1 - 3 April 2011
The amount of time and work that Jim devotes to support for DX4WIN is just remarkable. And the results show it: as an example, this utility program that Jim developed, and continues to update, saves a lot of us HOURS in periodically reconciling our records with those of the DXCC Desk. A big tip of the cap and pat on the back for Jim, AD1C. [Dx4win] problem changing award flags
I had converted and also entered around 1600 QSOs into dx4win and I am current with all 8.05 files and updates. Because of the file conversion, I was only able to check the Confirmed box appropriately for each QSO but I did not have the means of automatically Confirming the DXCC award submissions for these (mixed, band, and mode). Every one of the confirmed QSOs was submitted to the ARRL by the manual card checking process. Now I want to accomplish the following logical operation in dx4win but it is not working per the information in the support website: if Cfrm = Y then set DXCC MIXED to c; DXCC BAND to c; DXCC MODE to c if Cfrm is not = Y then do nothing I tried doing this within Reports...Award FlagsChange Award Flags... DXCC Mixed, Band and Mode.Action = Submitted - Checked but for each and every possible combination the number 0 always appears and dx4win will not allow me to change that. I want to do this without going through the comparison to the lotw site. Is there a step I am missing or is it not currently possible? Changing 1600 records one by one is getting very tiring. 73, Jeffrey Pawlan WA6KBL __ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

[Dx4win] Label printing format for standard QSL (4x6) card
Is there a format for printing directly on a QSL card. My cards have standard boxes across the middle of the card. I've tried editing one of the custom reports to print a label for the 4 x 6 card but it still printing the basic 1 label in the middle of the card. I'm sure there must be a format for this as it is a pretty standard card layout, but I haven't been able to find it. Thanks for any info. The award flags don't work that way. The only way to mark confirmed QSOs as Submitted or Checked is to do a DXCC Submission. Reports...Award FlagsChange Award Flags This can only do one of two things. 1. Change one award flag type to another (i.e. Submitted to Checked) 2. Clear award flags. Re: [Dx4win] was changing award flags now dx4wlotw
I had to modify each record to reflect my paper logs and QSL cards. I then ran dx4wlotw and corrected some important mismatches. I have one question about this new program; why does it not show MIXED matches and mismatches? The instructions on the support webpage does have MIXED in the example. 73, Jeffrey Pawlan WA6KBL __ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html
Re: [Dx4win] Label printing format for standard QSL (4x6) card
Forward : I do not print labels with DX4WIN. I have received several QSL card with printed labels that NO LONGER will stick to their appropriate QSL card. I have secured them with (Scotch brand tape). Those labels that have have come loose from the QSL do indicate the TO: and FROM: call-signs. I am glad both callsigns are listed on the printed labels that clearly defines the To: , From: on the labels. Please ensure your labels format(s) provide the same TO/FROM info.
