[Dx4win] DX4WIN and IOTA

2013-02-06 Thread ALAN ZACK
I wonder if there are any DX4WIN users out there who also make submissions
to their IOTA card checker for IOTA credits.

I know I can use the REPORT GENERATOR: IOTA: SUBMISSIONS and get a list of
IOTA contacts that I have marked for submission in the bottom of the main
logging window. I also know I can download this report as a excel file. Now
after I made my submission I have 249 IOTA's confirmed for credit. Now I
need to change the status of these 249 contacts from S to C. Is there an
easy way to do this other than change each contact individually?

Also is there an easy way to export IOTA QSO data from DX4WIN to a file to
import to the IOTA webpage submissions page? Presently I use the excel file
I generate from DX4WIN and manually type in the data for each QSO into the
IOTA submissions page.

After my submissions are completed by RSGB IOTA I can download a .csv file
of my IOTA credits. Is there any way I can use this .csv file to import to
DX4WIN to change my submission status from S to C?

Below is an example of the .csv file data that I can get from the IOTA web
pages if this info could be used to update DX4WIN other than doing it
manually:

Hi Alan,
You cannot upload any files for IOTA awards unless you have
participated in the IOTA contest and submitted an cabrillo file for
participating in the contest. Then you can use that file to add the
new island you worked and that have been accepted as an valid contact
in the contest to your IOTA account. This is possible first when the
logs have been checked.

The change from submitted to checked
If you go in under the report heading in the top menu of the QSO
window and click on the Award flags button you can in the Award field
select IOTA mixed and in the Action field select Submitted - Checked.
Then all contacts you have labeled with a S in the IOTA column and the
mixed field will be converted to a C for checked.

Good luck in the chasing of IOTAs

Re: [Dx4win] DX4WIN and IOTA

2013-02-06 Thread ALAN ZACK
Thanks Mel,

Yes I am a registered user of IOTA and have an account. I presently have 249
IOTA credits with IOTA. I have a .csv file downloaded from the RSGB IOTA web
site with my IOTA credits listed. Can I use this file to update my IOTA status
in DX4WIN somehow? I can upload my QSO's to their website at anytime. But my
question is can I do the upload from a file exported from DX4WIN? I presently
use the DX4WIN REPORT GENERATOR window to give a .csv file of my IOTA QSO's.
Then I print out this DX4WIN IOTA.csv file and manually type in each individual
IOTA QSO into the IOTA submissions webpage. For LOTW I can easily convert a
DX4WIN ADIF file to a file that I can download direct into LOTW. For IOTA I
must type in each QSO into their website. I would like to know if there is a
way to download an exported DX4WIN file directly to IOTA. As it is I can take
any of my IOTA Contest Cabrillo files and import it directly to IOTA. I would
like to know if I can do the same for non contest contests v
ia an DX4WIN ADIF file or .csv file.

Thank you (and Cesar PY2YP) for pointing out the REPORTS-AWARD FLAGS-CHANGE
AWARD FLAGS FUNCTION. I had missed this but that is what I was looking for.

This is the easiest way to do what you want, George.

 Can be done easy George
Make under Filter Selection a new entry
With date filter 01/01/2013 to 31/01/2013
 Update save etc

 When the filter is selected
 Go into reports
 DXCC
 Listing worked
 And you have it

You can print it or write to file (and clear the bands also)

 Onderwerp: [Dx4win] DX4WIN filter question

I need to filter all my QSO's from 1/1/2013 to 1/31/2013, tomorrow, and only
filter for the unique countries and write to a file that others without
 DX4WIN can read.
We have a contest in our DX club, WNYDXA, for the most countries in the
 month of January.
I was able to filter all contacts in January but also need unique countries,
 no dup countries.
How can this be accomplished in DX4WIN version 8.05?
 Thanks.

I know this has been discussed before but I have a question for the group.
Like many my Stay Alive does not seem to work. I have solved the problem by
running VE7CC ahead of DX4WIN but that seems a pity. I found with only
DX4WIN that after I loaded the TCPIP file with the Keep Alive flags on the
nodes that it still does not work. In looking in the actual file I can see
the | 3 at the end of the node listings but when I open the window to select
the node for packet cluster logon the | 3 is not shown at the end of the
node addy lines. Is this normal? Also Keep Alive does not work. I then began
using VE7CC. I exchanged notes with Jim on some of this but am still stuck
for a DX4WIN only solution as it seems a pity to run both programs for such
 a small feature.

The VE7CC solution is the best one at present. I have been using it for years.
