Hi John,
You are 100% right: I tried and it works! Thanks!
I was always afraid to just "save" it (under the source name) after creating
the selection and seeing that the number of QSOs listed after selection has
decreased. I thought that saving would cause my source log name now becoming a
different, shortened version containing only selected groups. It is a pity that
it is not explained so clearly in the Help file..

Hi Radi, No you won't loose any QSO's when you create a filter it does not
delete the QSO's from the log they just aren't in the current selection. Your
log does not change size, you see fewer QSO's because you have made a filter.
Turn it off and all the QSO's are back again. If you don't believe me, try
this. Make a backup of your log and put it somewhere safe then make a note of
how many QSO's are in the log, now make your filter selection click OK then
when you go back to the log entry window save the log. Now go back and cancel
the filter selection then go back to your log and count the QSO's believe me
they will all be there I know because I do this every day and have never lost a
QSO. In fact when you make a new or change a filter selection and click OK
DX4WIN needs you to do a save or you will loose the changes you have made.
Which is exactly what is happening. 73 John ZL1BYZ

Hi John,
As soon as I create a new selection and click OK, the f6gnz log that was opened
reduces in size and contains only the selected groups. So, I can't save it
under the same name as it would delete all my "All QSO's"... I can save it only
under some new name so the original log would not containg the selection..

Hi Radi, Do you save the full F6GNZ log after creating the new filter
selection, before saving the log with a new name. If you don't then that is
why the filter is not there next time you open the full F6ENZ log. The new
filter you created needs to be saved in both logs at least once or it will not
remain in both logs. 73 John ZL1BYZ

Hi John, I was intrigued by your conclusion, so I have tried again: -
Opened f6gnz log containing all QSO's - Filter -> selection - Add->Replace this
name->Clublog - 2 clicks on each of 3 group names
- Update -OK -Save log as Clublog, logging window now shows Clublog instead of
f6gnz
-Filter-> selection - Found Clublog in pull-down list -Update->OK> Save
Clublog
- Start f6gnz -Filter-> selection: Clublog NOT in pull down list
-Close F6GNZ, Open Clublog - Filter->Selection - Clublog in pull-down list
Conclusion:
PREVIOUS (multiple group) SELECTION NAMES CAN BE RECALLED IN PULL-DOWN LIST
ONLY AFTER OPENING THE LOG CONTAINING PREVIOUSLY SELECTED GROUPS. BUT THIS HAS
NO USEFULNESS!
SELECTION NAMES PREVIOUSLY CREATED FROM THE MAIN LOG (all QSO's), CONTAINING
MULTIPLE GROUP NAMES, SHOULD BE AVAILABLE IN PULL-DOWN LIST WHEN OPENING THIS
MAIN LOG, AFTER HAVING MADE NEW QSO's. THIS WOULD ALLOW PREVIOUS SELECTION'S
UPDATE, CONTAINING NEW QSO's MAKING PART OF THIS LOG, WITHOUT NEED TO RUN
THROUGH NEW FILTER CREATION AND SELECTION PROCEDURE!
SAVING THIS NEW LOG UNDER A NEW OR SAME NAME AS THE ONE CONTAINING PREVIOUS
SELECTION, WOULD PERMIT TO HAVE UPDATED LOG EACH TIME IT IS NEEDED.
Thank you for triggering my curiosity!

Ah, puzzling?
Well it does work. Once you have setup and saved a group selection and or
date filter combination you should be able to go back and chose it again
from the list and re use it.
Maybe some one else can pick what is been missed?

Hi John,
This is exactly what I wanted to say: I do NOT find my previous selection
at the end of the drop-down list nor anywhere in it, as if I had never made
any selection! Only the selections that reflect the group names are
available+ All (00) !

Radi.
When you bring up the selection editor window, at the top it says current
selection then just below that is a box which probably says All QSOs, at the
right end of that box there is an arrow pointing down. If you click on that
arrow a list should drop down with all your previously made selection
