[Dx4win] Version issue stuck on 16- Jan-2011
Hi Gang: Here's one I am stumped on: Windows 7 64, DX4WIN v 8.05 . It seems that I have version dated 16- Jan- 2011 when I check under Call sign "Version". "Sov. Military Order of Malta" When I use the latest version of UPDATER it tells me that all of my files are up to date. I am sure that there is a more current version out there. [Dx4win] Radio time outs with DX4WIN, LP_Bridge, K3 win XP PRO
Hi Gang: I am running a K3, DX4win 8.05, LP Bridge and a K3 from Elecraft. Approximately 2-3 times per hour I get a radio time out message from DX4WIN. I have to restart (START RADIO) again to accept entries. I have a friend with the same setup including computer, WINXP PRO SP3 and K3; he has the same issue. The computer is an E5300, INTEL @2.6 GHz with 3.49GB Ram. My gut tells me the issue is with LP_Bridge but that is a guess at the moment. I did not have this issue with my IC 756Pro 3. [Dx4win] What causes illogical confirmations in normal methods and LoTW?
Hello Group: I am seeing QSO's get confirmed in both normal (Method) and LoTW where I have not marked them confirmed. I know of one other user who is experiencing the same issue. Is there some preference setting that we can change to eliminate this problem? We are certain that we are not marking these QSO's confirmed. The effect of this is to mark the QSO's confirmed where they are proven not to be and that obviously fouls our respective databases. Any thoughts to correct this issue would be appreciated. 73 -- Dave K3FT __ Dx4win mailing list Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/dx4win Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.htm Post: mailto:Dx4win@mailman.qth.net This list hosted by: http://www.qsl.net Please help support this email list: http://www.qsl.net/donate.html

[Dx4win] Worked countries show in yellow (after they have been worked previously)??
Hello: I am using DX4W v.7.03.16 since may of 2007 and have recently seen spots with 9A and ET show in yellow as if they had never been worked. The fact is that in both cases, I have had at least one contact on 20 Meters from each country. I do not know why they are showing yellow. My country file is dated 07-Oct-2008. The 9A that I have worked and confirmed is 9A5MT and the ET(s) I have worked are ET3SID and ET3AA. (Not yet confirmed). The issue has been intermittent. These calls come up as a P1 in yellow when they have previously been worked. Can someone help with this issue please? Am I missing something? [Dx4win] Automatic call sign lookup on QRZ, Question
I have implemented this feature in DX4Win and it works nicely with one exception. It seems that the QRZ windows stack up on my PC (XP Pro) (I have a second screen) and eventually, the system comes to an out of memory state where the mouse pointer does not follow movements of the mouse. Question is: How can I get the QRZ window to close after a lookup so that the windows do not stack up? Any experience out there with this one please. I don't understand anyone's need really to group by year or by contest; since you would still need to do a search operation (F8) to filter by Group. You might as well do a search by date in that case. I use Groups in my main log to differentiate from G3NKC and G3NKC/P, and I think I set up GQ3NKC - so call sign variants. For my GD contest operations, I currently hold separate logs for GD0EMG, MD6V, and MD4K; even though I have been thinking about the merits of merging those logs (might be nice to see a complete DXCC achievement, for instance); but I often think these would be outweighed by the overhead when doing the QSLling chores (when someone requests a card, I normally QSL all QSO's with our particular contest call. I might end up selecting QSL's for all call's; meaning I have 3 labels that would have to go on 3 cards). ON balance I think those logs will stay separate. 73 Dave G3NKC -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of John Balsillie Sent: 15 February 2008 23:06 To: dx4win@mailman.qth.net Subject: RE: [Dx4win] Multiple QSOs change on QSO NOTES - Group Numbers Hi Bill, I'm not sure how you allocate your group numbers. I started giving a number to every contest, IE CQ WPX CW,2005,2006,2007 ETC and could see I would fast run out of numbers. On a suggestion from a local user I now only have one number for each contest and use the same number each year. Its a simple matter to filter by year or mode as and when you require. This has reduced my groups considerably. I just wish we were allowed more than 254 group numbers. At my present rate I will have all 254 numbers used by CQ WPX CW this year. When that happens I will have to look at other options to accomplish this or look at different software that will do what I want. [Dx4win] Automatic Call sign lookup??
I would like some suggestions on integrating an automated call sign lookup while using DX4WIN. I know there is an ability to do this with DX4W. If you export your logbook to ADIF, update the DX4WIN.CTY, and make yet another export, thus ending up with two exported ADIF versions of the logbook representing a "before" and "after" logbook. You can compare the two logs and get a list of changes made.
