[Dx4win] DX-colours in DX spots window
Hi, I'm a little bit confused about the use of colours specially no 5 and 6 e.d. red on white and white on green. A recent case: I have 9M2 confirmed on 20M/CW. At 15:51 a packet spot arrives, 9M2/PA0RRS, on 30M/CW, red on white. This colour means Awd Band not confirmed BUT I have not checked Awd Band in Preferences. At 16:05 a new spot for the same station on the same frequency, now white on green. This colour is more logical considering confirmed QSO on 20M/CW. Is this a bug or something? [Dx4win] Font size
Hello, I'm using DX4WIN v 6.04. In the top window under headings File Radio Help there are 3 one-line windows with text e.g. Add real-time Modified 16:20. The size of the font is too big so the text does not fit the space provided. How can I change the size?. Erik e-post: [EMAIL PROTECTED] alt.: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mail scanned by Norton Antivirus
[Dx4win] Group numbers
I used v 6.02 up to last Xmas with no problems. After upgrading to 6.03 I noticed that when printing labels the Group number text was not printed. In Preferences I had put %% in Labels/Greetings just as in 6.02. On the label Group number text was printed ok in 6.02 but in 6.03 came %%. A couple of days ago I upgraded to v 6.04 and the same story there. I checked the archives but could not find any clue. I hope somebody can give me the solution to this problem. 73 de Erik e-post: [EMAIL PROTECTED] alt.: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Mail scanned by Norton Antivirus
[Dx4win] Re: Dx4win v 6.02 - Windows 2000pro
Thanks to everybody who gave me ideas. To help others who might run into the same problem I give below the solution. I copied the SAVE files as well as the DX4WIN.zip - and the SM0LZT.key files to a cd-disc and then installed the program on the laptop. Apparently all files in the SAVE-folder change their attributes to Read-only in this process using a cd-disc. When I un-checked this attribute everything was OK. A special thank you to SM0PSO/Ove and SM2AQT/Rolf who presented the right solution! 73 Erik Erik Hyllander e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
[Dx4win] Re Adding QSL Managers
Hello again, thanks to everybody who answered to my inquiry, so, my English wasn't that bad after all, hi. The question behind skipped is still on the table: what does it mean, when is it used? I have looked in the manual but have not seen any answer. 73 Erik Erik Hyllander, SM0LZT e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] alt.: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Packet: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
[Dx4win] QSL Manager Database
Hello, I have a problem with loading data into this database. When I have prepared the textfile one line could look like this: PJ7B,03/08/2003,W8EB After import the resulting date has this look: 1703-01-08 The callsign and the manager are in correct places and correct written. Any ideas? I use DX4WIN v 6.02. 73 Erik Erik Hyllander, SM0LZT e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] alt.: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Packet: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
[Dx4win] DX Spots Window
Hello, last Feb. 15 I posted the following message: Another observation is that all spots from internet are lost after exit from DX4WIN. When I use my normal set-up to the local DC-cluster via 144 MHz spots remain. Now the two cases are identical i.e. spots are lost when opening DX4WIN again, v 6.02. I have the impression that it was ok in the beginning, there are spots saved from from Feb. 9 and 10. This has nothing to do with checking 'Leave all windows in original position' in Preferences/Screen. I think it is of value to save earlier spots in this window to check where a station has been operating etc. Paul, please put it back in the next version, it works ok in v 5.03. Now, I got the idea to reinstall 6.02 and found that it didn't help. In DX4WIN.put there are a bunch of spots from start and they remain but all spots added, coming from internet or local 144 MHz link, are gone after restarting DX4WIN. I got one answer from AD1C/Jim who has not this problem. Are there no others but me having the problem? Using W98SE. [Dx4win] Internet connection
Hello everybody, First thanks to all of you answering my earlier posting about Internet connection. The determining factor came from VE2DC/Mel to another user suggesting there could be a problem with a firewall. I had assumed that my normal web-browser had to be active and that DX4WIN used that path. OK, I had read the help-file and it is not mentioned anything about web-browsers so. Anyhow, checking my ZONE-alarm I found that DX4WIN was waiting for approval to connect. Once cleared I got the info from OH2AQ's DX-cluster to the upper part of the Packet window. But nothing in the DX spots window. Checking the help-file again and checking Preference/Packet2 I saw that pattern no 3 was missing. Instead there was this line 'DXfcq' which apparently came from v 5.03 and earlier versions. When this was changed to the html line info was fed to the DX spot window. I have noticed that if the cluster address finishes with .html no reload takes place. If it ends with .html?|3 it reloads after three minutes even if the cluster at normal web-browser contact reloads every minute. Another observation is that all spots from internet are lost after exit from DX4WIN. When I use my normal set-up to the local DC-cluster via 144 MHz spots remain. Again thank you! Hello DX4WIN-users, I tried to hook up to internet, http://oh2aq.kolumbus.com/dxs/dx25.html?|3, but I got the message An exception occurred. Cannot resolve destination address. I edited the line in dx4win.tcp to look like as above. I have internet connected and web-browser active. Can anybody guide me, pse. Thanks Bill for your suggestion, I removed first |3 at the end of the string and then also the question mark but no success. I get the same message. So my question remains! [Dx4win] Clipboard - Packet Window?
Hello everybody, I understand that it should be possible to copy info into the Packet window from an external source. I connected to the dx-cluster at OH2AQ and copied to the clipboard 25 lines of info. Then I tried two ways. First, TNC not connected to the local cluster. TNC answered with cmd: and EH? for every line i.d. it did not understand the command. Second, TNC connected to the local cluster. It seems that the TNC after receiving started to send info to the cluster, so I disconnected. Not in any of the two cases info came up in the DX Spots Window which I expected. My TNC is KAM+ and I use DX4WIN 6.02. So, what did go wrong? Ideas pse! 73 Erik Erik Hyllander, SM0LZT e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] alt.: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Packet: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

[Dx4win] F3 again
Hello folks, F3 has worked fine over the years until yesterday. Now when pushing F3, I get the message 'An exception occured, Invalid file name'. If I then try another callsign there is no message but the horizontal blue top section of the QSO window turns grey. I can access the disc directly without problem. I use RAC and nothing is changed in Preferences. So, anybody out there have had the same problem? I could definitly use some good advice, please. Merry Xmas and A Happy New Year to everybody from a cold Sweden (-14 Centigrades). 73 Erik Erik Hyllander, SM0LZT e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] alt.: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Packet: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
[Dx4win] Colours for DX-spots
Hi DX4WIN-users, I still use v 5.02. In preferences/packet2 it says red new country bluenew mode red on whitenew band/mode blue on white not confirmed, different call When I check how it works in my DX spots window the first two are ok. But for red on white I have new band and confirmed other bands OR new band and NOT confirmed other bands blue on white new band and confirmed other bands OR not confirmed/different call Has anybody experienced this? In my opinion red on white should signal that a country is confirmed if possible for the mode indicated by the frequency. Yes, I know that you can use CW on all frequencies on a band, however, it is not common on SSB parts. Or have I missed something? 73 Erik Erik Hyllander, SM0LZT e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] alt.: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Packet: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
