Re: [Dx4win] Move to a different computer
Hi I have tried this a number of times ... and it works :) Also if you want to syncronise the two computers - all you have to copy is the .DXL and the .CTY file from the /SAVE directory to the new computer, and you are up and running. This gives you a lot more control of the size of each print job and the ability to recover with less wastage if the printer jambs or something. First rule; make a backup before you start. Second: Don't ever say yes to changing the print flags until you are completely satisfied you have all your cards printed. Example: say you have 2000 cards to print, you can break this up into 20 lots of 100, use ranges 1-100, 101-200 etc. Write these out on paper before you start so you can cross them off as each is completed. Don't ever say yes to changing the print flags until you are completely satisfied you have all your cards printed. If your printer breaks down during a print you can do that range again, but first print to screen and scroll through to find the last good label printed, then make a note of the page number and make a new range to complete all after that page to the end of the current range to paper. This works very well when printing direct on cards as each page is one card so you get very little wastage if you printer fails during a print. If you don't change the print flags you can resume printing at any time if you keep a record of where you left off. I hope that helps and makes sense. 73 John ZL1BYZ. -Original Message- From: dx4win-boun...@mailman.qth.net [mailto:dx4win-boun...@mailman.qth.net] On Behalf Of Hamad 9K2HN Sent: Wednesday, 22 July 2009 8:07 p.m. To: dx4win Subject: [Dx4win] Print bureau labels Hi, I do have a question is there a way which I can print bureau labels for a specific country? The COM2 port interface is not fully implemented (or broken) regarding RTS/CTS/DSR. I found this out when connecting the Winkeyer to COM2. It only worked, when connected to COM1. Winkeyer needs theese lines for powersupply. The radio is connected to the PC via the backpanels packet input. When working RTTY you put the radio in packet mode. Unfortunately, Dx4Win records this (correctly enough) as a PAC QSO when logging. Is there any way of changing this, so RTTY is recorded ? I have experimented with the .RIG file and and change the mode string for PAC to the same string as RTTY. When i click on a RTYY spot on the dxcluster window - it sets the mode on the radio to PAC.
